If you find out the name of the combination square set at 34:00, I would like to know. I have a set with similar markings. My square head has "AD" over "6", instead of "4" like yours. My center head has "AD" over "R". Yours has "AD" over "B". The protractor head has no marks. The tightening knobs are the same. There is no rule. When I put a rule in the center head it does a repeatable center line on a 12" circle, whether it is flipped over or put on the opposite side. Really great estate sale find. Thanks for the super videos!

I wish I could find a Craftsman/Atlas lathe for that price. The closest one like that is 8 hrs away in Grant Park and $950 for it. Yeah it has a fancy cabinet that I don't but it shouldn't be a $500 cabinet attached to it. And then there is the fuel cost to get there and overnight accommodations. Most of what I see are beat up old converted overhead belt drives.

Two comments at the approximate 24 minute mark in this video. 1) why were people dismissive of the idea of 3D change gears? I think they would work just fine. 2) Crescent used to sell individual parts to rebuild their adjustable wrenches just like Rigid. I personally sold and bought lower jaws, springs, adjustment wheels and the screw in pins. I do not know if those parts can still be found.
@mrpete22211 ай бұрын
People did not seem to like any of my videos with 3-D printing. I assume they thought it was just a cheap plastic gear that would not hold up. I worked at a hardware store when I was a teenager. There was a little kit box that contains all of the extra parts for these wrenches. Jaws, Knurled, nuts, and screws. Nowadays, everything is just throw away.
@herbholmberg447411 ай бұрын
@mrpete222 Exactly! That little kit you had in your store was the same kind there was in the store I worked at that doubled as a plumbing shop. Only about ten years ago, I was in a small hdw store in a small town in KS that was going out of business that had a newer Crescent kit from the 60's or 70's that I wanted to buy the whole kit. Sadly, they were just too high for me to buy. Too bad people are too ignorant to understand that 3d gears would be more than durable enough to be used on a home shop type machine. I guess most just don't have enough mechanical aptitude to understand the application of the newer technology.
