You mentioned that there was some ambiguity about Stevenson taking drugs. Interested, I decided to google it. It turns out that Stevenson wrote Jekyll and Hyde during a 6 day cocaine binge.

for the appearance you could look at the theory of physiognomy and how Stevenson disagreed with this theory that 'criminals could be distinguished by physical characteristics' instead he never describes Hyde's appearance, further adding to the ambiguity of him as a whole character

These videos are life saving. They make revision actually fun and are so in depth even a few minutes of watching this could boost your grade. Going to recommend to everyone in my class, but that might tighten the grade boundaries.

Oi they do say throughout the novel meaning anywhere however they expect you to talk about the beginning middle and end-of course ,though,you have to start with the extract and make sure you know what part its from-usually will tell you what scene

I know you probably don't teach LOTF anymore in favour of an Inspector Calls but a few videos perhaps just on the final chapter would be incredible, the current videos I the playlist have really changed my perspective on the book and Literature in general, understanding the writer's intention have taken my work from a level 5/6 to 7/8 and it's all down to you

This has helped me tremendously! We go through the novella in my English class but it's a shame as we don't discuss more unexpected and more sophisticated themes that much. I got a overall 7 for lit and a 8 for language which I'm so happy with. My downfall for lit was my Jekyll and Hyde essay as I now no its best to state the norm (for example Hyde is devilish) then contrast with a different opinion. Thank you Mr salles as I got a 9 in poetry!!

hi - really useful video! the only question i have is for some clarification at 8:15 as you said something about the reader being personified which i couldn't really get my head around
