Huge fan of MotBM myself and was so excited to see a second printing. I missed out on the original hardcover version but got the PDF (which is awesome too, with all those conveniences built in). It's a phenomenal adventure, great story, tons of cool puzzles, miniquests and stories inside the dungeon, and the book is highest quality. Awesome to see this getting more attention lately!

Nice review! This book is so great. I got my hardcopy the other day and having a blast rereading the whole stuff. My two scents about the authors is that you should definitely check out their other works. Zak S. Does a lot of excellent and imaginative stuff in the RPG scene, I can easily recommend any other book by him, but the Vornheim city kit was what blown my mind inside the OSR scene. And Patrick Stuart did THE greatest RPG setting book, in my humble opinion. Awesome Underdark craziness in The Veins of the Earth. Both books you can find within the Lamentations of The Flame Princess Published stuff.

Its worth saying that Zak Smith is blackballed from working with most of the RPG world, including patrick stewart, for a laundry list of rape and sexual abuse allegations. Which is a shame, because its a great book.

How long do you think it would take to run this module. My first thought is ‘long’ but is it weeks of playing, or months. I kind of think 6 months might not be an unreasonable timeline, given the length of the book.

I have a hard time extrapolating that from just reading it. But if I have to put a figure on it; I would say about exactly one shitload of sessions.

@@solaris_cc4353 Which he has denied, with proof that his accusers lack. Read her statement, and her fellow two people that came forward, then look on Zak's blog the official announcements and read the conversations and affidavits of his and her friends during their marriage. Zak is not an abuser.

Thanks for letting me know about this, I'll look into it when I'll decide wether to buy Zak's products or not: I don't want to waste time around other people's matters and drama if it does not involve me personally.
