Man...when Kamala let Zoe get hit by that huge prop of Thor's hammer Mjollnir...I was jaw dropped, I literally thought it took her out the game. I feel like the mom knows more about Nani's bangle than she's letting on. I also feel like the part where Kamala fell back into another realm after activating the bangle was like maybe her ancestral plane dimension...possibly showing the ones before that shared the same abilities.

She didn't let her get hit. She warned her and got the f_ck outta dodge!! What I found crazy was the absurd comedy. A giant sized Ant-Man head mowing down people and because of the previous light show, they weren't even paying attention. Zoe, her rival gets hit by Mjolner. Lol

Fun fact for any gamers in the comments. The woman gossiping with Kamala's mom in that store, is the voice actor for Symmetra in Overwatch Also - what they're calling Kamala's powers on the show (hard light) is the same name used for the technology that Overwatch character uses.

As a weird kid who loved Quasar in the 90s growing up, I've been hoping that the bracelets here were going to either be the Quantum Bands or Nega Bands. I am sad to miss the inhuman connection but getting either of those in the MCU does make sense with getting her tied into the Marvels movie.

yesss tasha 10:12 absolutely right. brown/muslim people writing about brown/muslim people, so the nuances comes through with cultural expectations and standards - like what you said about the costumes. also, as a brown muslim i immediately empathise with both kamala and her mom. their hearts are in a good place, there’s just no open communication and sharing (for kamala no opportunity for it because of being overly protected by her parents).

Awesome first episode. This series is giving me John Hughes's films, 10 Things I Hate You(1999), Lady Bird(2017), Eight Grade(2018), Booksmart(2019), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World(2010), Spider-Man Homecoming(2017) Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse(2018), and Parker Lewis Can't Lose(1990-1993) vibes. Kamala Khan fan since 2014. The music and visuals in this series are marvelous. The cinematography in this show is fantastic. Iman Vellani was the perfect casting for Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel.

The fact that the actress who plays Kamala is a huge marvel fan herself, you can see it in her performance. She is us as marvel fans who love this universe. And I completely agree with trey, are they hydra because they are popping up everywhere, hopefully they are on our side.

When she jumped out the window, the way Tasha goes, "Girl!" kills me lol. Really enjoyed this episode, and as a Ms. Marvel fan, I'm good with the changes to her powers so long as they hit the right character beats. I didn't fall in love with Kamala because she had stretchy limbs. That was a bonus.

There are in Inhumans in that universe. They were in Agents of Shield and the Inhumans series. I figured they changed her powers because the series bombed and the comics weren't selling. And there wasn't really a reason to focus on the Inhumans since they have the Xmen. But they should be still cannon.

Well the inhumans in inhumans show is non canon and agents of shield early seasons was canon but not anymore. Those shows are not in main mcu.

It does not seem as childish as I was thinking they would do. I think the cop at the end is either Skrull or Kree. It looked like he recognized the power signature the gauntlet uses.

They have significantly changed Kamala’s origin and powers from the comics. She is a member of the superhuman sect know as the Inhumans. In the comics her powers are shapeshifting and size manipulation. Black Bolt who was in the last Doctor Strange movie would be her king.

I dont think there was a need to switch her powers especially bc of "Reed Richards" like that sounds stupid we have like 30 niggas who can fly like 30 strong mfs and so on so obviously havin 2 people wit the same or similar abilities has not been an issue till now and like do they plan on reed and kamala in the same place same time 24-7 bc their powers can still be useful in 2 separate places😂😭

Kamala’s mom made me so mad, I’m just sorry for anyone who lives in that kind of household. She was speaking a whole lot of “you do this” “be yourself” but really, Kamala is being herself, she just want her daughter to be just like her or that person she expects her to be. Also the sexism of not letting her do anything while the brother does everything. It could be the fact that he’s an adult but it doesn’t seem that way. She seems like a conservative traditional woman who dislikes anyone whose different than her. She dislikes the grandma for being herself and was talking bad about a girl who wanted to explore the world. I can see this is going to be an amazing controversial show that’s going to teach everyone the perspective of a traditional muslim family. Besides that, it was funny that she watched Zoe get hit with the hammer. I’m surprise she didn’t break a bone or wasn’t knocked out from the drop.😅

bro, it is actually just like this for brown people. Most of the times the daughters are sheltered and sometimes even sons as well (speaking from my experience) so this isn't a show of sexism. Sure there are parents who are sexist with their children but there is nothing wrong with protecting your children from potentially bad stuff. Also Amir is old enough to be given that sort of treatment. Her mother's disapproval of her isn't because she wants Kamala to be like her, it's because she wants Kamala to have a made life for her in the future as she's in an age where they have to start thinking about this kind of stuff so her mother is only concerned. (im a Pakistani btw so I understand each and every perspective she has) brown parents are conservative yes and they want concrete proof of a well made life for their children so they don't have to worry. As for her grandma we will get to know about her more in the show and im pretty sure we'll understand Kamala's mom more. Understanding cultural differences is important. There is absolutely nothing sexist in this show cause if it were Kamala would not be even allowed to hang out with a dude in the first place cause trust me sexist brown families do that sort of stuff when it comes to their children 💀

lmao that's how it is for us brown people... although my parents are not strict and are very lenient- but my relatives were the big issue and still are just because I'm not in touch with my pakistani side..which is far from the truth I love and appreciate my japanese and pakistani side equally 💫 also kamala's parents are not even as terrible as compared to the other asian parents you come across...they don't even let their child breathe unless they allow them to lol
