3 жыл бұрынIf you would've told me as a kid in the early 90's that I'd one day have multiple arcade machines in my home, I probably wouldn't have believed you. Fast forward to 2020 and that is a reality. Ms Pac-Man fans, join me as I unbox and give some of my thoughts on the Ms Pac-Man Target Edition Arcade1up cabinet. I purchased this from target.com for $449. The other version of this 1up cabinet (which doesn’t include Dig Dug) are now in stock at walmart.com. This will make a great gift for any Pac-Man fan.
I can only imagine being a kid in 2020 and waking up on Christmas day to one of these. The is definitely a must have in my book. And just imagine how great of a Christmas gift this would be. Thumbs up for more.

I think this is one of the best looking cabs Arcade1up has made. However, I plan on submitting a ticket about the low sound. I've seen videos of other owners saying the same thing about the sound. Hopefully a software patch will fix this issue. Other than that, I'm satisfied with this cab.

I like how the Ms. Pacman game here has the cast roll call of the ghosts unlike most versions of the game which replaced the roll call with just a plain title. Thank you for uploading this!

Excellent video! Loved the unboxing and build, game play, and shots of the cabinet. I watched this video because I've been waiting for 1up to release Ms. Pac-man and I may finally buy one. Keep making great videos.

Dude great review! And thanks for showing all the games it came with. Hopefully soon Arcade1up will have a patch you can sync to your Ms. Pac-Man machine for the volume issues. And really love the Pac-Man throw rug man! Retro representing!

Ms. pac-man always had a slow and fast version. One where she was faster than the ghosts on her own and another where the only way tou could get separation from ghosts was via turning OR power pills.

@@MegaCasperC Its not a slow version. It's the original release. The later release had a speed up chip. Perhaps they will implement it with an update (if they can do it legally of course)

@@MegaCasperC Sure thing. I love the fast version, and I DO wish it was available, but at the same time, this is the one I grew up playing, so it's not a deal breaker. :)

There is now firmware available that gives you Dip Switches for all the games (change settings) The fast version of ms pacman is on there too. I'm like y'all I grew up on the fast version so when I first got my cabinet I was like damn but now I got the fast version on there and it's a game changer no doubt.

Thanks for the review, and congrats on finding the Dig Dug inclusion. I have super sensitive hearing, and Pac 40th was so bloody loud, I had to install a volume reducer knob. I got the Walmart version of Ms pac-man, which did NOT have Dig Dug. Has Ms Pac, PacMania, Pac Plus, and Galaxian. I was scared this cab would not have the lighted marquee, but it does. It's volume was lower than on Pac 40th, which was a relief for me. I'm pretty sure you can install a little 10, or 20 watt amp, and run a cable from your PCBA, out to the amp, and then jack into the amp, with the cable from the stereo speakers, no problem. You should be able to pump up the volume. :)

Enjoyed tbe video mate. Yes there is a problem with the audio. Arcade1up released jet another statement about a bloody patch for this one my goodness. Anyway it looks fantastic mate. I've ordered the HSN version. It has Dig Dug and a lighted front panel that caught me attention. I hope you continue enjoying your cabinet lad.

Hopefully that patch will fix the audio. And I saw the HSN version today with the front lit panel. Looks amazing. I'm enjoying the cab. Don't see how the audio on this new machine isn't performing like the others.

My Ms.PacMan arcade is on the way. I got the Walmart version no dig dug, but no big deal since I have never heard of that game. lol. I caught it on sale for $246. I can't wait until it gets here on Wednesday and my hubby puts it together for me. It brings back my childhood memories of being at the arcade. The next one, I want to get is Centipede. I subscribed and this is an awesome review. Your arcade room looks amazing.

Nice review, and a great looking cabinet. Just to let you know, If you want to swap it out (assuming you have room) , Best Buy has the Ms.pac-man cocktail cabinet for the same price as the one you bought and has 4 additional games. Just passing that along.

I got this for 200 without a riser and the marque doesn't light up. I wish it had both things but it's still awesome and made my stepson smile huge this past Christmas morning.

I definitely like that the screen resolutions are correct on Arcade 1ups......my modded versions of these games, either cut off the screen at the bottom or stretch it too wide.....I may have to pick this machine up. Thanks for the vid! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Fun and informative video, man! in Super Pac-Man, when you are big hold the button for super speed, and let go when you need to slow down for tight maneuvering. The trick is to get a yellow speed-up pellot to get big BEFORE getting the white power-up pellot to eat the ghosts, it resets the duration for both pellots... then you can keep getting white power-up pellots before it runs out and the duration for both pellots resets... so you can eat the four ghosts over and over with super speed ; only get the second yellow speed-up pellot when you've gone back to normal. (getting white before yellow does not work well, always yellow then keep getting white ones before it runs out) Peace ☀️

Heads up I got the WalMart version of Ms Pac-Man and the Marquee doesn't light up, has a plug for a light on the back of control board, but no light was included and the Marquee is a sticker on a piece of wood. The riser included does not have Ms Pac-Man artwork, it is a generic Arcade1Up riser, which takes away from it so I decided not to use and will return, will check at Target to see if I can get the Ms Pac-Man riser version with the artwork. Wish mine would have had the Dig-Dug game, you think they would have a setup so you could add games, even if it was a cost to do so. The audio could be up graded, but the Pac-Man unit also looked bigger.

I have no idea why they just won't sale Dig Dug on ALL Ms Pac-Man arcade1up units. And while they're at it, make them all have a lit marquee as well.

Great video. Your screen looks clear and vivid. Mine seems a bit blurry. Especially Ms Pacman. Guess I got a bum unit.

Thanks Shadow. I just wish the volume would get a little louder. Apparently there's a software patch coming from Arcade1up that'll fix the volume issue as well as the blurry screen you're experiencing.

I told myself to stay away from the Ms. Pac-Man cab, but I feel like it's a must own regardless of the sound.. awesome review, appreciate you going through each game of that cab and comparing pac-man.

You're so welcome! The sound really isn't a deal breaker. But it does suck when comparing to the sound of the other 1up cabs. Nevertheless, you can still enjoy this classic. I felt that it was must own for me. I don't think you'd regret the purchase. Thanks again for watching.

@@dthomasfromnc I'm already debating if I can find a spot for the full sized cocktail table version vs the stand-up. I agree the sound lvl doesn't sound like (pun intended) a deal breaker, old cabs with the sound switch was annoying too but also not a deal breaker in my opinion (MKII but also annoying).. I like that classic Ms Pac-Man cab so much hard to pass on it.. I was hoping to just wait it out and go outrun with Sega Rally but man pass on Ms Pac-Man.

I loves me some Dig Dug too! I noticed the sound effects are a little higher pitch than the actual arcade game. This is the most accurate looking of all the Arcade 1Up cabinets. They recently made a smaller countercade for Ms. Pacman.

This looks great! My gripe w/ Arcade1Up are their risers. They absolutely MUST update their riser to accommodate people who are 5'11 and taller. Some people don't mind the current height, but many would prefer something significantly taller.

Last night at Walmart I played the Arcade 1Up Mrs. Pacman full size cabinet! NO YT video does the game justice (sorry). There it was in sample mode where you can play the four games. The ease of operation/joystick was smooth and easy enough to play. Yes there is a LOUD BOOM start-up and unfortunately a very low sound when you play the game. There is a clear playboard protector added. I can't afford nor have any space in my tiny apartment room, but I do plan on getting the Ms. Pacman countercade.

Was watching and you were asking about the arcades and why they made so many variations, actually d, the Pac-Man version of this one doesn't light up but I bought that one instead of Ms Pac-Man because it had Pac-Man plus, I love Pac-Man plus better than I love Pac-Man itself and I had never actually played it! Another beautiful game I don't know if you have it or not is the Star wars cabinet with the bench and the light up Marquee and the blue on the back it looks like a spaceship at night we had it but unfortunately it caught a glitch and my son and I on Halloween took an Ax and a hammer and we beat it to death in the hallway for fun! LOL so we're getting big buck world tomorrow and I'm going to get another Atari Star wars as well so I'm going to buy both tomorrow and I'll post those in a couple of days like I always tell you, keep up the good work!

I thought about getting the Start Wars cabinet but ultimately decided to pass on it. I did preorder Big Buck Hunter but canceled my preorder. I think I'm good for now on Arcade 1up machines.

I'm planning on getting the Pac -Man 40'th anniversary cabinet from arcade 1 up I'm making room in my living room in my apartment I know about the sound I'll fix it down the road game cabinet has all my favorite Pac-Man games including Galaga all 7 games.

Guess what people who own these? Just spoke to someone at the factory that makes them at Arcade 1 up . He told me, in a few weeks a Ms Pac-Man patch is being developed. Here is what will be fixed. 👍👍👍👍 High score saving: High scores saved will now be automatic. Sound levels: Currently, when sound is all the way down, very low sounds are still audible, and when set to highest level, ,sound isn't loud enough. This will be fixed. Pixel smoothing: a dipswitch menu will now be accessable that allows for toggling of pixel smoothing, lives, bonus lives , difficulty, and possibly more cool settings. Sure look forward to getting mine when all bugs are fixed.🙂 Hope this gives encouragement to all arcade lovers.🙂

DThomas - Great unboxing video. I noticed that you had Ms Pac Man on the Megacade, and as you've said, the screen and the speakers are better on the Megacade than on the Arcade1Up - So the decision to buy the Arcade1Up version is because of how cool the cabinet looks?

Thanks! When my wife and I first purchased Pan-Man Arcade1up I said, "Why in the world don't they have a Ms Pac-Man?" When family and friends visit us, it's cool to see everyone hovering around these arcade1up's having a blast. And I will add that it does look cool in our gameroom. Not everyone knows how to navigate thru the Megacade. But those 1up's are simple.

Actually, they confirmed months ago that there won’t be a speed up version of Ms. Pac-Man since that is technically a hack, unless if it was the Ms. Pac-Man/ Galaga rom

Is there multiple boards on this particular cabinet for Ms. Pac-Man? My husband plays it on his PS4 and it has 141 boards. I’m trying to decide if I’m going to purchase this cabinet for him for Christmas. Awesome arcade room by the way!

Arcade 1 up should of added Ms Pac-Man plus Ms pac attack and Ms Pac-Man championship edition for this Ms Pac-Man if you don’t have a PC don’t have mane 32 installed you’ll never know these games there are hundreds of arcade games that you may of never heard of or got to play in the 80”s

Thanks for the review l am on the fence about this. I see that it’s not as fast as the original Ms Pac-Man with no speed button and the video quality isn’t as good as my Xbox version. I love ❤️ the light up marquee and the addition of Dig Dug. I have the original 2018 PacMan cabinet and it had no real volume control and it’s LOUD...l think they changed the sound due to customer complaints. My original cabinet had problems with the paint rubbing off and they sent be a protective film color for free..

You're so welcome. Supposedly they're working on a software update to fix the sound issue as well as the screen blur some folks have.

This IS the speed of the original mrs Pac-Man. The “fast” version everyone talks about was a ROM HACK for the board that arcade operators used to get people through the game faster. That being said, I do enjoy the faster version more though.

Does the game look slightly blurred? Mine is crisp pixels on the menu but once you launch the game is like the resolution changes and don't have the crisp pixels anymore

@@dthomasfromnc I opened a case with Arcade1up and apparently that is a feature, not a bug. This is what they told me: "We are aware of a few potential features which may require a patch to enhance our Ms. Pac-man cabinet. We are currently looking into these inquiries and will work to resolve as quickly as we can. We will have further announcements on the patch in the near future. "

As of today (it was delivered this morning at my local Walmart) has a Ms Pac-Man, Galaxian, PacMania and PacMan Plus in a Ms Pac-Man cabinet. I haven’t heard or seen any news about this particular cabinet???

Yep, that's the Walmart version. Don't know why they didn't just put Dig Dug on ALL the Ms Pac-Man cabs.

@@dthomasfromnc thanks for reply - i bought the arcade1up Galaxian cabinet when it first came out and now I see it bundled with Ms PacMan - not sure what to think about this as it kinda feels like Arcade1up is taking advantage of its customers by rereleasing these titles - maybe should just wait a year or so and arcade1up will eventually release one cabinet with all the games on it - from a customers perspective not a very good way to build consumer loyalty.

@@Chekmate99 you're welcome. I too had the Galaxian cabinet but sold it along with the 1st gen Pac-man so I could get Ms. Pac-man. It does suck that Arcade1up are putting games on these cabs that that were on previous machines. It sucks for the customer especially when you've already purchased one of those 1st gen cabs.

Probably want to use something like computer speakers that are self powered, and just add a plug in y-jack so you have sound right there in front of you or remove the pair that came with it and replace with a good set of self powered computer speakers.
