Hearing Julia’s story really put into context something for me, which is like... There NEEDS to be closed captions on Drawfee. This is easily one of the best KZfaq channels to watch with captions on them, and I imagine deaf people would really appreciate it a lot.

Yeah, both of my parents are deaf and I really want to show them this channel , but you'd need audio for context and most often than not the captions are the inaccurate auto-generated ones where the comedy is lost so if they did captions on their videos it'd be super amazing

I was born deaf too. Was nice ‘hearing’ the same experiences and stuff that happened to Julia. It’s so relatable. With me the pressure behind my ear drum was so high my ears drums were unable to ‘catch sound’. many operations later and many years later I’m hearing everything. But it took a while because people didn’t know I was almost completely deaf. I learned to talk by lip reading and people just thought I was a slow weird speaking kid haha. I remember being scared the first time my mom sneezed or when I heard my cat miauw for the first time. Hearing sound was a crazy experience.

I have a dumb idea! It’s a challenge episode where you all choose what the others draw like normal, except you draw the two halves of the character on opposite sides of the screen and when you’re done drawing you drag them together and see how it looks

Julias' story reminds me of a deaf boy who was in the same college group as me Our tutor was slowly losing his interest in teaching (or will to live) The deaf boy got a lot of notes in his work he signed to his interpreter to ask why he has so many Our tutor said he should listen more This happened during lesson

Damn... My sense of smell barely works, so every once in a while I'll get out of a shower or something that clears my sinuses just enough to smell and I'll be like "what the hell is that" and it will turn out to be cinnamon or something normal. I was 20 when I learned that pizza and toast do not smell the same for other people. Having that experience for something as substantial as hearing must have been intense for several years.

Like, maybe go to IMDB and type your name in the search box, pick a bunch of movies with the artists' names in the title or has a main character with their name and draw what you think the plot is about/have a host read out the premise and draw from that? Then show the poster to compare. Preferably movies they haven't seen or heard of Ex. Jacob draws Jacob's Ladder or Twilight

"[Sailor Moon] got a work study program, she did it right" In my experience work-study programs put less than minimum wage into relieving your debt while giving you table scraps as tangible usable income for food. If you absolutely have to go to college but can't pay your best bet is to find a local coffee place that's miraculously still hiring students, or even just a standard retail or fast food job. That way you can have some money for luxuries and other expenses outside your debt.
