Installed on a '79 Bronco w/a 351M/400. I live in Alaska. I can now go thru mountain passes in excess of 5000 ft. whereas before 3000-3600 ft. was the max my Holley carb could handle. From summer to frighteningly cold Alaskan winters, it has been flawless. I can literally go where I've never gone before.

How is after 2 years of use? Any problems? Im thinking of getting this version.
@RANDOMNATION907 Жыл бұрын
@@armygreenfj3924 I never had a problem with it. I had sold the Bronco years before I posted the comment. The system I had was the original MSD system. They (MSD) were bought by Holley and the current Atomic system is different, so . . ???

Hey Steve, I had my mechanic install an Atomic MSD EFI on my tricked out '79 Chevy C10 Silverado and I could not be happier. What I wanted to mention to you is that because my truck has dual fuel tanks it made the installation more complicated. My mechanic had to fabricate a cylinder shaped fuel tank, about quart sized because when one of my fuel tanks went below half a tank I could not get enough fuel to my engine and it would die out. That's the best way to describe it from a layman's perspective because even though I've done a lot of work on my engine, I considered this job beyond my skill level and tool availability (and because I'm an old geezer now I prefer to have other people do the hard work). I'd had it with other people's 30 year old rebuilt carburetors, and in California, new carburetors are not street legal as they will not pass smog. With my carburetor I had to pump my accelerator like 12 times (sometimes more) to start my engine when it was cold. To make matters worse it would sometimes die on me when starting out from a red light. That made me as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. It's very embarrassing to have a really nice looking truck that doesn't run. Also, after I did drive it and I'd come home, my carb would drip fuel filling my garage with the smell of gas. I was afraid my wife would shoot me if I didn't get it fixed. Now, I'm as happy as a pig in mud. My truck never dies out, runs as smooth as silk, and I get better fuel mileage from the 350 cubic inch. Thanks for the excellent video.

I already have fuel injection an outdated pro flow. Can this system be used with my existing return style fuel system. And will it work with a hall effect switch in the dizzy using the 6A to control timing?

At 4 min 44sec it is stated that if I am opting for the return-less set up its preferable to be ran with the pump in tank... is this correct? Thanks
@hotrodray68024 жыл бұрын
I've done it with the pump externally mounted like he shows and using a return line and it's perfect.

The separate computer unit is actually why I'm going to end up buying the atomic one over the atomic 2 they act like it being all in one is a good thing but the heat can Fry out the computer and cause major problems

Is there a vacuum port for a HEI distributor
@SummitRacing3 жыл бұрын
The Atomic has five vacuum ports, ported and manifold, to cover accessories such as a power brake booster (Figure 3). Four ports are 1/8" NPT and one is 1/4" NPT.

What about spread boar?
@Binderbird4X4Firebird3 жыл бұрын
You will need an adapter plate from a spread war to square bore it will work just fine

Having rubber hose from the fuel pump to the front of the car will cause a rough idle because the hose will pulse when the injectors fire at an idle. Mine does. Grab the rubber hose at an idle and you will feel it pulsing like a heartbeat,,,,,, bad

What is the psi for the post filter?
@SummitRacing4 жыл бұрын
The post filter is Holley part 562-1 and is designed specifically for the Sniper EFI kit. It does not have a specific rating but should be good for up to 60 psi.
