We demonstrate the An-225 takeoff and climb to level using the autopilot. Change flight level, heading, turn and bank modes also shown.
The Antonov An-225 joined the Flight Simulator platform on February 27, 2023 to mark the one year anniversary of The Battle of Antonov Airport (Battle of Hostomel Airport). The aircraft was destroyed and intentions were announced to re-build the An-225 as a tribute to all the Ukrainian pilots killed during the war.
NOTE : Specific checklist/procedures for the An-225 are modified in this video to enable the user to become airborne quickly and effectively using the autopilot.

Thanks i went back to watch this video a full 3 times over, read the inibuild manual also. Your video has helped tremendously with my flying this on stream! Can now fly departures, enroute and approaches with flight planning for the most part. Your right still a bit temperamental at times. .A huge step forward from my heading select approach LOL.. Thanks again for compiling this vid!

Thank you for this informative video …it’s hard to imagine the magnitude of this plane. Truly an asset when lifting and transporting 250 tons of cargo!!!! Crazy amazing! Much needed resource, especially now.

@@TheFlightLevel lol... our first leg went fine, our second leg... landing gear failure.. not so good lol. It appears i need to watch your vid on autopilot again.. had to use heading select for most of the flight. Couldnt get gps to track waypoints automatically

@@captnabib Glad you had some fun! The GPS Nav function is a little temperamental from what I have seen. HDG function works great and you can navigate well with specific waypoints following a flight plan. The approaches are hand flown, so if you are lined up well back from touchdown you should be good. How do I get the plane to follow the flight plan?

Hi. I have not yet flown in this aircraft with a flight plan loaded. According to the manual, in the AP section turn the mode selector to NAVIG - this is the position for the aircraft to follow the GPS track. Good luck!
