Of the patient’s medical state is bad and requires immediate transfer……then 2 pilots operation should be the rule. Spatial disorientation is the trap but then…..turbulence….AP disconnects at night calls for immediate check of the attitude…….and then…..just then……the heading

Some of these pilots I wouldn't let drive my car, let alone fly an airplane, with people in them.

This was such a sad presentation, great and detailed to the max, but still sad. I watch knowing the outcome yet the buildup to the event i'm actually cheering them on, "oh good they've leveled out" and then the dag-on stall comes on again. UGH. I'm nowhere near a pilot and even I was asking "why don't they seem to know how to enter the waypoints?" Even I know that!!!

As a flight nurse, when we all got onboard we took a tally, go or no go. If one said no go, there were no questions, no comments, no explanation required. If all 3 didn't agree, we never even hit the APU or brought the cockpit out of cold dark.

I live about 50 miles from the crash site and remember that night well. It was by far the worst weather of the year, and I remember thinking that it was a good night to be on the ground.

I am not technical at all but you really need to understand technical things to be a pilot. I would not make a good pilot. This is a reminder that all the boring, routine things like checklists and flight plans are actually very critical.

At that rate of descent, it’s incredible that the wings and cockpit “shell” were in as good a shape as they were. Maybe the pilot pulled up at the end?

Always very difficult to have to say should have, could have, would have. I was raised in the heat of the Cold War on S.A.C. bases. Plane crashes were always anticipated but never welcomed. Pilot errors and mechanical failures are part of flying. So sad! Never enough to know what happened.

Turbulence = auto pilot disengage. Pilot can't fly IFR. Plane into terrain.

That’s was my first thought. Why is he screaming navigate? Fly the god damn plane! Aviate always comes first. Many many many lives have been saved in emergencies when crews have aviated first then done troubleshooting (or even just taking stock of where they’re at) second.

The hospital should be the ones at fault. Second the pilot. NO amount of money is worth it to fly under a terrible ICE. For one patient they lost five. What a genius of management.

Zero percent chance this was super urgent. Reno has excellent hospitals, the trip to SLC was almost certainly just for specialty care. Bringing a family member along also suggests the patient wasn't critical. Source: flight paramedic.

I am absolutely blown away with how realistic this airplane seriously is! It’s right up there with TMB 850 although I don’t have that. I just bought this instead! Absolutely 10/10! I would recommend this plane for $32.99!! It’s literally amazing! The best turbo prop I’ve flown!! I’m still learning it myself but man! I love this airplane! The sounds are my favorite!! Did they get real recordings??! Cuz it sounds incredible the spool of the turbine is unbelievably amazing! Well done FSReborn!

Excellent video and analysis - and terribly sad too. I had pressure from a business owner that chartered for several stops and a return. On the return the weather got very bad; turbulence, and thunderstorms. I decided to divert and spend the night in some town. He yelled and screamed about it all the way to the hotel ("you'll never fly again!!")....until we were hit with a major hail. storm and the ground shook with thunder. He sheepishly apologized. My condolences to the family and friends of those who were lost.

@JustMe0025718 күн бұрын
Single pilot ops are inherently more dangerous than multipilot. There's no fail safe, no support. Reverting to manual flying unexpectedly in nightime, turbulent IMC is a tough job requiring a pilot with solid IFR skills and resilience.

Hey, thanks for watching and commenting. This video is a little slow out of the gates in terms of views, but it was requested so I followed through! The GoPro mounts for airplanes can be purchased from this company flightflix.aero. Great product and solid. Absolutely no issues with any mounts. Cheers!

This excuse is wrong, to be used. Think about this. It would help if the reader is IFR rated. Flying single pilot in mountainous terrain at night in IMC conditions with moderate turbulence. All of these things cancel themselves out. Even if this flight was done during the day, IMC is IMC. There is zero vis. outside. We are trained to fly by the instruments and to trust those instruments. If you fly the aircraft in it's Va range the aircraft will not break apart. I believe he relied to much on the auto-pilot and forgot the basics. First rule in aviation is "Fly the Plane".
@aharageones19 күн бұрын
Some of our air medical assets have a standard to not inform the crew of any information about the patient's condition, to avoid influencing the fly/no-fly decision. The pilot and crews are to make the decision based solely on the flight/weather conditions.
@TheFlightLevel19 күн бұрын
Thanks for your words! Interesting about not knowing the patient’s condition re influencing the decision to fly. Risk assessment definitely needs to be modified to avoid a similar tragedy! Cheers!
