Agree with you to a point, but we cannot possibly know when adult survivors are exhibiting behaviors that were caused by the predator. Some healthy or unhealthy behaviors may be the result of trauma, some not. That’s why people don’t want to be seen as “victims” - because it colors all our future thoughts and actions with “oh, that’s why she/he is acting this or that way.” Nobody wants to be reduced to victim status

@@Jack-eo5fn "we cannot possibly know..." It's nauseatingly ironic that all your post amounts to is blaming the victim. Because you, not we, claim that it can't possibly be known. Wow.

@@eddierayvanlynch6133, I’m sorry but your comment is not logical. The abuse can and should be known. But to judge someone’s public event presentation as exhibiting sexual abuse behaviors seems dismissive. Why do you attack me from such a dark mind? I said that we should not dismiss victims of sexual abuse (or any abuse) by consigning all their thoughts and behaviors to victimization. The original commenter on this thread wrote that this accomplished athlete is exhibiting victim behaviors as she speaks before a national audience. I personally feel that’s dismissive of this remarkable and brave woman. What does that have to do with friends being retraumatized by loud noises?
@eddierayvanlynch6133

@@Jack-eo5fn People like you perpetuate victim shaming. Projecting that other people have dark minds, especially after claiming there's no way to know, is just backpedaling. Claiming it's impossible to know is in no way shape, or form, supportive of survivors of abuse. And OP's observation that Ms. Maroney is in distress, that's called empathy. Empathy that you felt you needed to "correct" in two people. You're stuck in the victimizing mentality, not us, because the molestation is the problem. If you want to complain about the damage, specifically how it's perceived, that's your choice. And there are those of us who demand that child molesters be brought to Justice. Ms. Maroney is one of those people. Her name is not victim. Her role is not victim. Her future is not victim. Her legacy is not victim. If knowing and saying that means you think someone has a dark heart, that's on you.

It is now because of them. US Gymnastics was sadistic, they wouldnt let parents be present in the training farm during training which is when the abuse happened. USGym always told them their presence would interfere with practice that the kids are pushed beyond their limits and couldnt have concerned parents interfering the kid from discovering their potential. And if they didnt agree the kid wouls simply get kicked out of the national team. USGym staff at that time needs to be held accountable just as much and the FBI agents involved.

Most of them have "no clue" how to conduct a criminal investigation. In fact; the vast majority of training videos we watched regarding; officer safety issues, were from FBI agents being killed/injured in the line of duty. Because; they had no clue how to approach dangerous situations. Yet, they sure like to "preen" around like little peacocks, thinking they are superior to real police officers. You are the problem. Read what you said again. You are literally blaming her for what Nassar did. Why do individuals stay in abusive relationships for years and years? The victims here and even their parents are groomed and manipulated to a point where things that seem obvious to us are completely obscured to them. Please think about the danger of your victim blaming approach to heartbreaking situations like this.

@@barkingspider33 I figured you'd start harping about "victim blaming" ... But once again, how is a 13-year-old completely oblivious to the fact that some guy like Larry shouldn't be putting his fingers where the sun don't shine? 🤨 That's a legitimate question ... It's truly baffling ... Arrested development of critical thinking ... I played sports and knew if a coach or physical therapist ever thought about doing some pokey-pokey, rubby-rubby that he or she would have a rough day at best 👍

Kayla's attorney should have strongly recommended that Kayla not dress in such a way in Congress that might, in part, give insight into Nassar's fixation with her. I am in no way suggesting that Kayla brought it on herself.
