Thanks everyone who stopped by. Stream crashed at the end of the 2nd run but we ended up losing that game to mono green. As always, sorry about the ads on the VOD, youtube doesn't let me remove them until it's done processing on their end.

I've been running through the Historic ladder best of 1. I'm using mono white colorless. It's awful against Blue/White control lists, and great against Wizard and Boros lists. You always want turn three sweeper at the low end. You get there with mana rocks plus Wrath or just foretelling a Doomskar. You want all your permaments to be colorless. The top end is colorless planeswalkers and mana lands. Mulligan aggressively for turn three sweeper. 4 Coldsteel Heart 4 Mind Stone 4 Day of Judgement 3 Cosmos Elixir 4 Karn, the Great Creator 4 Doomskar 3 Forsaken Monument 1 Chimil, the Inner Sun 3 Ugin, the Ineffable 2 Emeria's Call 3 Ugin the Spirit Dragon 13 Snow-Covered Plains 3 Faceless Haven 4 Field of Ruin 1 Inventor's Fair 3 Mutavault 1 The Mycosynth Gardens 1 Pithing Needle 1 Defense Grid 1 Liquimetal Coating 1 Weathered Runestone 1 The Book of Exaulted Deeds 1 Wurmcoil Engine 1 Treasure Vault

Wow the rewards are really good if you snag a few wins. 5k gold and 30 random packs lol, I guess a lot of them were older but hey free wildcards / random useful cards

Aether Hub is kinda required in the Phlage version so you can still play a turn 2 Amped Raptor and potentially cast a 3-drop with the additional energy from the Aether Hub. Without it there is potential to “whiff” on the Raptor which is very bad. In the Lurrus version however it’s just a bad land. edit: you would have won that last game easily if you used your cards in exile better. you missed out at least 4 damage from amulet pings when playing cards from there. Especially not playing the Bombardment cost you big time. I’m honestly shocked you even board out a copy against control. I’m playing 3 copies main deck because it’s so good. Also get rid of the Pithing Needle and play Disruptor Flute instead.

Understand the need for hub in the phlage version, but still thing it can hurt a lot. Needle vs Flute doesn't have much of a difference given they both get hit by purge or wrath the sky i find. Last game I played passive. I was playing to not lose vs playing to win given opponent's clock. Took that line but it was wrong in the end. I don't like having multiple bombardments in vs control as 2nd copy is a dead draw and most sweepers are exile like purge where I would rather recast things. I just try to limit the amount of dead cards where in this case bombard doesnt change effectiveness between 1 or 2 copies

@@MTGJoe The advantage of the Flute is that you can cast it as response to them casting the One Ring or Planeswalker while it's on the stack which means they commited the mana already and won't get an activation out of it immediately and therefore wasted at least 1 turn. You can also use it in anticipation of a purge and just name that to make it more expensive for them, buying you time. Needle you have to cast preemtively to deny them and if you guess wrong on what to name you basically lost. And if you wait they get at least 1 activation out and can potentially remove the Needle on the following turn right away which means it did nothing at all. And yes the 2nd copy of a Bombardment is a dead draw but it's also one of your main win conditions against them that allows you to turn your wide board with the tokens into direct damage. You're playing a 20 land deck and with purged fcreatures costing 3 or 4 mana you are not refilling your board quickly enough to put up meaningful threats again, at least not all of the stuff that got purged. Sacrificing at least some for damage is usually one of the main winconditions against control (it can also stop their energy gain with Galvanic) so having access to it more reliably is beneficial. So instead of boarding out 1 copy, I'd actually board 1 in against control.

@Rrrqqk it can win games but right now but until larger volume of stats come in cannot say if tier 1, 2 or 3. Only deck I’m without a doubt super confident in tier 1 is Boros energy
