I also want to add something regarding Printing Amount and Price & your Claim (Difference between North America and Europe): Here in Europe most Sellers, after the Price Increase you mention, including all the well established and old MTG Stores sell Time Spirals Remastered (English) Booster Boxes for 140-160€ each (it was cheaper before). Which is 167 USD - 191 USD. And they stayed that way the past Month. So it seems that the Prices in North America are higher than in Europe. Which, if what you claim about the Printing Run, means there are many more Boxes available in Europe than in North America, because Carta Mundi (No bending Foils btw.) is printing a larger Amount. So now, not only the Printing Quality for Products in Europe has been and is better, but we also pay less than North America for Time Spiral Remastered Booster Boxes in English Wizards definitely is being strange about this Product if your Claim is correct. oddly, you were correct though. TSR: is 1 per 27 packs gets a chance at 1 out of 121 timshifted foils Masterpieces were almost exactly the same odds at 1 per 144 packs gets a chance at 1 out of 20-25 masterpieces in each set (both have about a 1 in 3200 chance of getting a specific card in their respective card pools) 1/27 * 1/121 ~= 1/144 * ~1/22 That said, it might not matter if you were correct about it being a limited print run. If that claim is true (and man, I really wish you would report a source....), TSR timeshifted will be incredibly rare cards, much more rare compared to the masterpieces.

Yeah look at the prices going down. As an example: I recently needed akroamas memorial for a commander deck of mine and now its price is going down and I might open it in a draft if I'm lucky. Imagine reprinting cards like demonic tutor, pithing needle, or top as timeshifted cards in future sets. I really hope they make another one for innistrad or original ravnica with better supply. I want to draft those older sets but they are at such a high price point currently.

At this point they would have a decent amount of historical data. It's concerning that they don't leave a second wave of printing on the table, just in case. I will say I don't know how the printing set up with those companies works, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Jumpstart is not actually a limited print run; it's print to demand. Maro keeps insisting that they are still printing it, but the boxes just aren't around or available. Maybe it's a distribution issue?

It's 100% on purpose for the sake of not ruining "Reprint Equity" it's fucking stupid.

Great Product, Low Print; Bad Product, Overprint

Variance killed Mystery Boosters, nothing else. Mystery Boosters is a lesson as to why you really don't want to be making a set above 250 cards. Even purchasing singles from a set that has over 300 cards becomes near impossible when LGS are being phased out, and online becomes your only choice, and the prices of new cards approaches reserved list card prices. WoTC set us up for this perfect storm of self-cancellation. IMHO, the fact some new cards ARE more expensive than some reserved list cards, makes me consider the cancellation of another print run is related to WoTC protecting Reserved List value.

I loved mystery boosters and I wasn't concerned about the value of the cards I just wanted to play history of magic draft, it was really interesting. Price immediately became an issue and that made me sad

Modern Masters 2 release appears to be a set that will be even more powerful than previous Masters sets. Does this also mean price will be absurdly higher along with a lower supply? I would say yes. Drafting like we used to is entirely gone now. Who would want to pay $45 or more per week for draft? Many of us stopped drafting anything with Modern Masters release back in 2015.

well with both it was something they didnt have any experience with because a block reprint paper set hadnt been done before.. they just didnt want to loose money if they were duds

As much as we want more time spiral remastered, the fetchlands in MH2 are more important. WOTC had to make a tough decision and I think they made the right one.

@@dlvyn123 I think what he means is wotc could choose to print fetches in every set. They simply choose not to to create false scarcity. Most likely because they don't want the secondary market to take a hit from high supply, yet they often say they do not recognize the secondary market at all. Two very conflicting ideas.

@@Lionguild yeah true, but to his second point. Wizards could just print fetches in both sets or do a secret lair of fetches at a reasonable price. That would probably make them more money. The reason they don't is because it would screw over the secondary market they claim doesn't exist. If they want to protect the secondary market that's ok but they should be upfront about it instead of claiming it's invalid and then making decisions to protect it.

Based on my very limited sample size (2 boxes) I think the foil timeshifted cards are more common than quoted here. I got 3 from two boxes, highlight was the prime time foil.

Play a 600 card vintage cube of all proxies with a couple of buddies that one of them built, it's fun as hell. I still buy cards because I like collecting them/playing standard(whenever events start back that is), but if you already have people to play with and you just wanna have fun, I don't see any reason not to make proxies.

All my decks are proxies. I got good fakes online and I'm never looking back

I'm not talking about price? Jumpstart did get the reprint we were promised, that was all I said. If you can't find it at a reasonable price anywhere that doesn't mean it didn't receive the reprint. Try Target, 24 packs of JS there is typically cheaper than a booster box of it.

I'm not saying to actually buy 24 packs, poor wording on my part. I'm saying that buying individual packs from places like Target is cheaper (per pack) than getting a box, so if price is your main concern then pick up packs there if you can. Jumpstart price hasn't dropped because the shipments come in small waves not a big flood, so most LGSs and online retailers are holding prices because it's still a "restricted" product that people are willing to pay inflated prices for. We're getting more product, it's just slow enough that people are still charging the premium. My LGSs isn't bad about it and I'm willing to pay them the bit extra over Target or whatever because they've had it rough this past year and I want to support them, but if you only care about price then you're better off piecemealing packs.

I was able to pre-order a box online for $169, and then literally 2 days later they shot the price up to $275. Just crazy to think that WOTC really “thought” this set wouldn’t be in big demand, and had such a small print run.

@@pachecyasack01 I wasn't so attached to old frame because I rarely saw it when I began (but I liked the 8th Ed white border a whole lot). The new frame was very bland and hard to read during Mirrodin (especially with stuff like Artifacts not having colored mana symbols in their effect boxes) but got a whole lot better during Kamigawa and Ravnica from what I remember.

Why didn't you just pre-order then? Pre-order prices were like $10-15 less than the original starting price. If you really wanted a box just pre-order to ensure you can get one.
