MTVR rear differential problems

Flush and change....let her roll. My old M35A2 had fluid looked the same. Smelled burned I think.

Gale Banks did a series of videos about how overfilling a diff can cause it to run warm. Drain, refill and check again I guess

Do you have any experience actually removing the diff from the housing. Or know anyone on KZfaq who has a video on it?

The MTVR diffs are very strong I’ve only seen a few Grenade over the years and that’s because of extreme use or lack of oil, or u joints giving out and marines continuing to drive them for another 1000 yards with the drive shaft swinging around , I would just clean her real well and remove any contaminants and refill.

Thanks for the info, hindsight it appears the truck was probably engaged into 6x6 when spinning at some point
