Very cool! I bought my 5 ton (M925A2; winch) w/ a custom bumper that also made it easier to open the large forward-opening hood (manually operated). Any good bumper should be able to withstand small tree hits and I think yours is good for that and then some! Looking awesome. Thanks for sharing.

This is a great addition to the truck. The aluminum original, I think it was an attempt to reduce weight at the expense of some protection. Those are huck bolts. Huck bolt fasteners are most often used in manufacturing, mining equipment, shipbuilding, and agriculture, as well as in trucks, trailers, bridges, railways, and railcars, where vibration is ever present. Huck bolts are made out of a variety of materials, with many different styles for specific applications. They come trom the need for a simple-to-install, yet permanent fastener that required high uniform clamp force and vibration resistance. Compared with conventional nut-and-bolt fasteners, the Huck lockbolt is a permanent, high-strength joint. A Huck lockbolt has a larger cross-sectional area and core diameter than a bolt of the same size, providing 10 to 20 percent greater tensile strength. Simple installation means reduced installation time and makes for fast and easy assembly of large quantities of lockbolts, with reduced costs. Best regards. 👍

Mario Ferreira wow good info! Interesting stuff, seems good for manufacturers but rough for us

@@mtvrchannel3051 Not that much, they are relatively easy and cheap to buy although the tool needed to do the crimping is very expensive. Truck cabs in U.S. are almost all huck bolted, several sizes and types... If check out the guys that do truck rebuilds, the top cap of the cabs and side panels are only fixated with huck bolts and works great. They are a pain to take of (depending on size, access and number) but very easy to put on, some would say it's almost terapeutic to use the huck bolt gun! They say it's they're new best tool to use! 😁😁😁 Keep up with the great videos! 👌 Best regards

Yup. Hucks and huck bolts. Need a hydraulic tool to fasten them. But it's faster and easier than trying to bolt it together, if you have the tools.

Those bolts are called huck bolts. Very common on paccar products aka Kenworth and peterbilts.

Those are huck bolts. Today’s version of frame riveting

Jason Couch is there a negative effect to touching them?
@jasoncouch24804 жыл бұрын
@@mtvrchannel3051 these are usually on frame mounted pieces that they don't want to ever come loose. I'll look at the truck we're building here and see what is related the what you are freeing up. My email jay@couchoffroad.com

huck bolts are also on your everyday semi truck... there is nothing wrong with replacing them with standard frame bolts. I work on semis and we do it all the time.

If you have time for a few questions about your truck: 1) Do the axles articulate like the M393 series? 2) Is there a hi/lo transfer case? 3) Is it full-time 6x6 or selectable? 4) Top speed? Thank you!
@mtvrchannel30514 жыл бұрын
Brent COS 1) the truck articulation is very poor compared to the m939 series 2) it’s a single speed underdrive case 3) during normal operation only the rear-intermediate axle (middle) drives the truck 4) top speed is limited by the governor at 65mph 2100rpm any faster and the Cat C12 May sling a rod
@brentcos93704 жыл бұрын
@@mtvrchannel3051 Great, thank you! 65mph is plenty in that rig and I'm surprised the tires are speed rated for that. 👍
@mtvrchannel30514 жыл бұрын
The tires are rated for 55mph when loaded, but there is risk anytime you travel faster than 55mph with those said tires

You can lock the driveline if you need to. Also, CTIS system will automatically lock the drive lines on certain terrain settings.

You wouldnt happen to know where the brake light switch is located? I cant find anything on it.
@mtvrchannel30514 жыл бұрын
Denton Racing check your brake treadle valve, it has 2 brake switches on it. One for brake lights, the other is ECM signal to stop high idle function when brake is depressed

What Mpg does your MTVR gets?
@mtvrchannel30514 жыл бұрын
Hummer Guy I haven’t checked it lately, but I averaged 5.7 mpg weighing in at 54,000 and running on the governor across the country 65mph 2100rpm
