Discretion is the better part of valor, however. There is honor, and indeed worth, in having restraint. Ali could have absolutely bodied the man, but chose not to, because it would have been wrong. Not because he isn't a warrior, I think it's because he's so MUCH a warrior that he refuses to use his full abilities against somebody lesser than him. Why should he? He has nothing to gain except victory, and he doesn't wish to cripple the man. Ali JR. is more representative of a protagonist than even Baki is, I feel. He tries to do good in every situation, with a few exclusions. Yujiro or Baki would have crippled this man in a fight.

Alai jr outsmarted him. Physically, he would have lost because shibukawas techniques are top tier. He just found a loophole and use intelligence to win. Had he rushed into it only using his body and not his brain, he would have been crippled by the old man.

I don't believe there is mercy in a hard strike that puts you to sleep. Ali used the necessary amount of force to end the fight, no more, no less. I know Baki as a series is about people going way over the top, but Ali Jr. is the antithesis to that. He beats you with what he needs to beat you. He doesn't seek to do lasting damage, much like a boxer in a prize fight. They fight to their best, but they don't want to seriously hurt someone. Ali's ability to one-touch somebody into a knockout is incredible, and it shows his restraint. This is what makes him unique in the series, the other characters do not have this restraint. They would have beaten this old man into the hospital. Ali simply put him out, won the fight, and that was it.

OFC it was not a real fight remember that Goki shibukawa cannot meet with danger cause if he cannot defeat an opponent he cant fight with them (remember when he struggled to reached the ring to fight with Jack Hanma ) an in the (episode where Yujiro shattered Yanagi's face) Goki Shibukawa struggled again to reach Yujiro because he cannot defeat Youjiro ( and the reason he cant fight them his mental image will put obstacles in his way so he won't try to pass/overcome them because he know he's going to face danger) an u can watch it on (KZfaq) to see for your self (Baki 2018 | Shibukawa Goki vision : The magnitude of power Youjiro Hanma).

Other characters weren't close to human, we have Jack Hanma who gained 20cm of height by breaking all his bones, we have Hanayama who eats grenades to the face, Dorian who get both his knees blown up but still keep standing. Alai Jr's techniques and fighting style were closest to what is humanely possible fighting against basically anime superpowers.

Bc Oliver uses brute strength while Jr uses his dad’s style but is Extremely Faster and more accurate

Nah he was good, but goki is a sore loser, thats why hes a winner. Ali jr was too much a sportsman. Accepting a loss is only postponing your victory pretty much in this series. Ali doesnt have that bitter vengeful mentality, the grit of a fighter only the skills of one

But something needs to be said about how the US handles dubbing animes, ever since the times of Dragon Ball Z the dubbing work is horrendous, It really does not sound like they're delivering their lines in character but rather as if they're doing an act.
