I feel like this episode is underrated. I had a few issues with it but overall really loved it. Such an interesting little character piece for Scully, who up until this point had always chosen to follow Mulder while part of her longed to settle down and have a normal life. And I think in the end she came to realize that she was where she was meant to be.

@@jamspice25 well it's hard to find a man who looks at you like this. You know, that look it's from a man who is deeply in love. He says "I love you" with his eyes. It's important to find a guy who says with his eyes "i love you" because, out loud, it may say "I love you" but it may be false. And it's almost impossibile to find a man who is so respectful and who can be your bestfriend and the best boyfriend.

I agree she's a badass in this ep but the badass part is not her leaving before he wakes up. It's the fact that he tucks her in on the couch and then later we see her getting dressed in his bedroom, implying that she got up after he went to bed to go make her move on him instead of the other way around.

It really cannot be debated if they slept together or not. She was zipping up her skirt and putting her shirt back on. When she fell asleep on the couch before, she had full clothes on. So for the doubters, it's not realistic for her to wake up in the middle of the night and then take off her clothes just to continue to sleep on the couch? So yes, they slept together. And plus Mulder is sleeping with no clothes on, and she is standing in his room.

while I do believe they slept together, your argument that mulder is naked is not quit right as we never truly know... in the beginning seasons of the x files mulder would only sleep in boxer which later changes to incl. a shirt... also as a woman sleeping in her bra on the couch is a likely cause why we see her pull down her shirt, she does not put in on, she might just have used the bathroom, hence the skirt zipping and rearranged her bra... every woman knows they like to go haywire when we sleep in them...

I'm still wondering what exactly happened between the moment he rises up from the couch and the morning Scully leaves him sleeping in his bed. I mean - did he leave her sleeping in the blanket and went to bed? Did he carry her to his bed while she was asleep? Did Scully crawl to him in the night to his surprise? Or did the action happen while they were still on that couch? There's so much sexual anticipation that it's hard for me to imagine how they actually came together for the first time. Who was initialising it? Was it tender, loving and caring or was it overwhelming passionate?

Spotnitz and GA wrote it to imply Scully had come to realize her choice was Mulder and the implication was sex. They left the blanks for the fans to fill in, so however you imagine it it how it happened.

I like to imagine it she wakes up later and goes to find him in his bed. Also, call me crazy but I kind of like to imagine that at this point they've been sleeping together for years on the DL (bc it would have to be on the DL bc coworkers law enforcement officers blah blah blah and you know Skinner is hella intense) but it's at this point she truly realizes how completely happy she is being with him.

Que hermoso ejemplo para mostrar lo que es el verdadero amor, cuanto respeto, dulzura y cariño destila esta relación de ficción. I mean to be fair I think she fell asleep too quickly the night before to have slept with him but like?? Why was she putting her clothes on in the bathroom in the morning? It's not like her hair is wet, so she didn't shower I don't think. And Mulder JUST started using his bed instead of his couch so I also doubt he has a hairdryer. UGH. This show man...

Yeah, you're right about this. From what I've read Gillian actually directed this episode. The morning scene actually is the scene where we are meant to understand that they had sex the night before. The nighttime scene has nothing to do with it, as sweet as it 💖

this is one of my fav. episodes... my main question is what happened between her falling asleep and standing in that bathroom... and although I think they slept together, Scully zipping up her skirt and pulling down her shirt does not mean they did sleep together, there are other explanations as well... but man for years I had hoped this is how William came to be...
