Great to see tuner studio continuing to develop their platform further.

Great video and info. I am seriously considering this for my Megasquirt set up. How do you "gracefully “ shut down the pi.
@MalcolmV8Ай бұрын
You need a power supply board that works like a UPS. It's wired directly to battery power and also to the ignition switch. When you key off it just pulls a pin low on the Pi letting it know you have the ignition switch off. At that point it turns the screen off and an internal counter starts. After X period of time it realizes you're done driving and gone and the Pi begins to gracefully shutdown. Once it's down there's a pin on the Pi that now goes low letting the UPS / power supply board know you've powered off and it turns itself off.

I want to try to connect a TS dash to a MaxxECU, anyone that have this working? How configurable is the CanBus in the TS Dash?
@howardhutchinson Жыл бұрын
Oh damn, what an innovation by TS. Do you know if this shared echo network works on shadow dash as well? Apologize for not.
@MalcolmV8 Жыл бұрын
As far as I know this is brand new for TS Dash only. Not sure if it'll find its way into Shadow Dash one day or not.

Hey, I was wondering if you could reach out to me and let me know where to get started on a dash like what you have, mainly interested in your sync setup.
@MalcolmV85 ай бұрын
At it's core it's a raspberry Pi with the Raspberry Pi touch screen. It runs linux (raspbian distro) and is using Tuner Studio software in full screen mode to display the gauges.
@tibs51106 ай бұрын
Hey man, did you have any problems in the beginning getting TSDash to connect to your ECU? I'm using a megasquirt 3 and even with direct connection from that to the pi, TSDash isn't getting any data in and isnt displaying anything.
@MalcolmV86 ай бұрын
I did not. Are you exporting a project from tuner studio with the correct connection settings for your setup?

I have problem with TSdash right now, my laptop can connect to pidash but all value in Tunerstudio stay 0 same like offline. Do i need RTC to make it work?

RTC is not required to make it work to the best of my knowledge.

How do you set up the hotspot on the pi? I got an extra wifi dongle and would like to try this. I'm just not sure how to set that up. If you could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.
@MalcolmV8 Жыл бұрын
I've worked in IT and with Linux most my life so I just CLI it all (command line). However I believe you can setup the wifi stuff in the GUI too which should have a somewhat intuitive interface.

@MalcolmV8 well I got ts dash installed yesterday. I figured out the wifi hot spot and connecting it all today. I got it working within my OpenAuto Pro on the Raspberry Pi so I can still use my stereo and android auto with it. There are still a couple of things I'm trying to figure out with it, but all and all a success. I'm glad you posted the video. I had no idea about the ts dash was just running TunerStudio on the Raspberry Pi. I could use my stereo or the TS, but now it all works together, and I can tune on my laptop. Love it.

@@TheEminit Did you have to program your RTC after installing the TSDash root file? I have yet to get my Dash echo registration working correctly. I can connect and crontrol the dash with the laptop but I can not get the echo license registered so TS stays offline. EFIAnalytics thinks it because my RTC isn't working correctly.

What is the communication setup for tuner studio? I have mine up and running. TSDash project is loaded and is working. Laptop is connected to TSDash but it stays offline.
@MalcolmV88 ай бұрын
Do you have the new beta version of Tuner Studio? If so in the data / communications settings there's a new option "Driver" and you use the drop down box and select "Dash Echo Client" and then connection type is wifi. Below that is the port and IP address.
@ZachKeene-zz6kr8 ай бұрын
@@MalcolmV8 Yes I loaded all of the latest updates today. It auto fills the port as 2000 and then my IP Address. But it never detects anything.
@MalcolmV88 ай бұрын
@@ZachKeene-zz6kr I suppose the port could be random, but mine is 21848. Does it have the correct IP in there?
@ZachKeene-zz6kr8 ай бұрын
I tried 21848 and 2000. I have tried several different IP addresses I found in the Pi. When I try to "detect" when it runs the search it looks like it is only looking for communication via Com ports. @@MalcolmV8

Okay I may have found the issue. I can control the Pi via the laptop. So it is connected. I activated the license on the pi before it was rooted to the sd card. I originally had TSDash on a flash drive to to see if i could make it work before switching everything over. It was activated then but would never function correctly. I wiped the cards and reprogrammed the TSDash file to root. Everything is up and running but now when i try to add the license it says. "Unable to activate registration, failed to retrieve computer identification. Waiting for EFI Analytics to advise if this is the issue or not.
