Hey, Keith. It’s good to hear from someone who has had reliable service from one of these. A lot of folk use and abuse these things and then complain they aren’t reliable. Sure, some components are cheaply made and can fail but replacements are cheap and it’s a good idea to have a few spares on hand just in case but my installed version in my camper has been great - just one temp sensor gave out on me and it was a 5 minute job to switch a new one in. That said, like anything else, you can find yourself with a lemon, though. I have an all in one version to set up when I get a chance so I’m keen to see how that goes for me. I think I’ll do the modifications first, though. One thing to bear in mind is that when searching for these units, apparently there isn’t such a thing as an 8KW (there’s a video on here where a guy scientifically proves these sized units are physically incapable of producing 8KW) and they only come in 2KW or 5KW so don’t pay extra for an 8KW over a 5KW. I’d advise anyone to research this for themselves, though. The one in my camper is a 5KW as I felt it was the best one for the money at the time I bought it but I could have got by fine with a 2KW in that space, really. They do put out an amazing amount of heat for their size. If I ever get to build myself a little cabin somewhere, one of these will go in as a back up for a wood stove for sure. 👍🏻
