Күн бұрынThis video is a compilation of the last 3 sessions I had fishing at Killarney beach. We caught a few different species including wrasse, flathead, pinkie snapper, salmon and squid. I was mostly using BFS fishing tackle including catching my first Squid off and beach and it was also on a bait casting setup.

Must say, never seen a squid caught off the beach before and learned the karate chop from a local just last week. Beautiful looking beach area for you to fish and some terrific little sessions. Nice job Jacob!

Thanks Larry, if it's not a surf beach and has weed beds close by then good chances it holds squid. You should throw out a jig under a float at times and see what happens.

What a wonderful place to fish mate. Those wrasse are tricky customers, look very similar to ours. Squid on BFS still on my bucket list

Hopefully this coming weekend I'll give a different spot a go, there is another beach 10mins further that had a tonne of wrasse last time.

Good one Jacob, that first cast hook up is also good luck for me, some people say it’s bad luck! Nice squid too yum!!😋 When I lived in SA I used to get some wrasse but for some reason not in Adelaide area, just when I went to the peninsulas

They are great fish to fall back on when nothing is biting because you can almost guarantee you'll get bites if you know where to cast. I'd prefer not to catch them because that means I'd be getting better action elsewhere :)

Yea plenty of times I have seen squid with my eyes when I haven't even got a jig. Recently I saw 2 on the surface at Portland boat ramp on the concrete

What a nice fishing spot! The wrasse scales made it look like a snake. Nice tip on to handle the squid.

Im thinking Flathead or maybe even large KG Whiting. Theres a few around there from time to time.

I'm thinking flathead. It looked a bit broad for a whiting I almost consider a poddy mullet as a second option.

Yea that's true, I think in freshwater I've usually had good luck and salt bad after a first or 2nd cast fish :) thanks for watching
