Her punishment should be an injection or two of tap water! What is wrong with people. She knew she was killing someone's loved one, and to do it 9 times you have to be heartless sociopath! Hospitals need to be more vigilant about who they hire and do frequent drug testing. Some nurses have paid for their license online, never had training and have no idea what they're doing. These are very scary times!

I was with my mom as much as I could possibly be her last 2 weeks in the hospital, but I'm only one person. I was run completely ragged physically and emotionally. But, I'm so fortunate I was able to be there and make decisions for her. And this story reminds me again what a good thing it was that I was able to help her move from Southern Oregon up to Springfield. I've heard people say bad things about the hospitals in Grants Pass and Medford even before Covid, so I'm thankful she didn't end up at this hospital. Still, it's hard for anyone who doesn't know a lot about medicine or about the patient's condition to know if things are being done correctly. They gave my mom morphine her final hours, but I had to trust that the nurse was actually giving her that medication in an effective dosage. My mom was still struggling and agitated and I didn't know if there was anything else they could do about it or what I should've asked for. That's something that I'm still questioning often over a year later. I was actually just thinking about it again yesterday. No one else was there with me, so when they tell me the morphine would've made it so she couldn't feel any pain I just can't really believe them. I wish I could've done more.

I'm a retired hospital pharmacist. About 10 years ago, there was a big story about some patients in the Deep South who died from contaminated TPNs. (Total Parenteral Nutrition - basically, intravenous food.) They had been mixed off-site (many big city hospitals do this) and the pharmacist had prepared them in containers that had been rinsed in tap water.

These people died painfully and unnecessarily because of the selfishness of addiction. As someone with personal experience here, I can say that we are not responsible for our addictions, but we are responsible for our recovery, and we are accountable for our choices. @Redeemed.of.YHVH.thru.Christ
@Redeemed.of.YHVH.thru.Christ 7 ай бұрын
I disagree with an addict not bearing any of the responsibility for his or her addiction. Especially when it comes to drugs and alcohol. You most certainly have a choice in whether or not to use such substances, and the vast majority of people choose to use even though they are well aware of addiction being the likely outcome. People reach for substances as a “quick fix” for dealing with emotional pain, and then they become addicted, and their use is no longer about dealing with emotional pain, but becomes them using to avoid the pain and sickness of withdrawal. Nobody ever found the answer to any of life’s problems at the bottom of a bottle, or in a medicine vial, or in a baggie. Instead, what they find when they reach for substances to deal with problems is a heap of more problems, more isolation, and often a denial of their addiction. You can’t fix a problem that you refuse to acknowledge even exists, and that’s what telling an addict that they have no accountability for their addiction does, it gives them the foundation to deny they have any culpability in the problems THEY HAVE CREATED for themselves. Everyone wants to be the victim, and act like they have no responsibility for any bad things that happen as a result of CHOICES THEY MADE in life, and it’s simply not true. If a person is willing to have the courage to look at themselves honestly, and acknowledge their addiction is due to them making poor choices for dealing with their emotional problems, then they have a fighting chance to overcome it. If they see themselves as a victim, who is not responsible for any of the negative life choices that led them to addiction, then they will just keep pointing the finger of blame at everything and everyone else, and they will never overcome it. Personal accountability is REQUIRED to overcome addiction.

You need to be really hooked and high to be using tap water instead of sterile saline or sterile water in place of the drug. It pains me deeply that there are people using the Nursing profession as a means of obtaining their fix. What once was a noble profession is now seen as a joke or worse by outsiders and patients. Please, if you are a Nurse and are having difficulties get help. Call the crisis help line. Do something but please, don't take a parent's medication. As a retired, now disabled RN, I know what it is like to be in constant pain from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Unremitting Pain. I no longer take Opioids because they didn't control the pain but for those that it does they are a lifeline. They are the difference between being here and not being here. For those patients in acute pain or having difficulty after surgery, that medication means the difference between healing well and not healing well.

😮Tap water is insane! She had to be high Af because why not use saline?? Why did after the 3rd/4th death with the same nurse on the case wasn’t action taken? Who was working alongside her if she’s injecting patients with tap water no way she didn’t show signs to her coworkers! Sooo many questions

Honestly so much corruption in hospitals/medical places/mental health. I once went to a mental health place -- while I was there they gaslit me, and even went to the extreme of giving me water dosed with some random drug that caused me to hallucinate-- the strength it took to be okay was a lot. Know the water was dosed because I drank from it twice waiting for symptoms to calm-- and both times the same thing happened...

I am sorry that happened to you. I was treated poorly in a secure psych ward, staff stole from me and mocked me for calling to get my belongings back. I had to get the supervisor on the line to get m things back. Thankfully we knew each other. These wards operate in a bubble and get away with too much because of that. Like I said in another comment, we need to start holding hospital staff accountable for their abuse.

No. I'm an RN who has worked in hemodialysis for 6 years. The city water has to go through multiple huge reverse osmosis tanks, where it is checked for pH and chloramines multiple times per day as well as having the proper acid and buffer added as not to cause the patient's electrolytes from being sub-therapeutic and potentially causing cardiac arrest (high potassium) or seizures (high sodium). In addition, there are endotoxins present in tap water that would kill a person. All of this is removed before the mixture (dialysate)hits the dializer, which is the closest it gets to the patient's blood. The waste products removed from the patients blood cross over the membrane of the dializer through osmosis and diffusion; the patient's blood does not even come in contact with the dialysate. So no, the water didn't have to come out of the toilet to kill them

I know this hospital…to think I was there three days ago just disturbs me. But to be honest, that hospital gets many more patients then capacity available in the hospital, basically less rooms, shortage of medical personnel and some annoying patients or tweezers. Or tweakers. Some people are repeat patients who annoy the staff and even mistreat them. I would not be surprised that someone finally got sick of just seeing the toxic abuse and started to design a way to permanently get rid of them…police in the valley are weak and do not help at with serious matters. They are a living Joke. They are operating with 80s 90s tech. I reported a secret operation where in Medford they were shipping all sorts of illegal contraband with permits of the federal government or doing stuff under another name…with special permits and also shipping advanced weapon systems and heavy armaments. To name a few other things. These police will not get involved. Serious crimes until someone dies or sues…American justice and medical justice system are a reflection of their elites and terminal decline by society. It’s pathetic actually

Us hospitals are theft because of the high prices of drugs. The United States is one of the most expensive countries in the world. As several large drug companies monopolize the drug market, the drug prices remain high, and many patients cannot receive timely treatment because of the high drug prices. The regulatory system is not perfect. There are some problems in the US medical regulatory system, including lack of supervision, which enables some medical institutions and doctors to operate against the rules and harm the interests of patients.
