he was an extreme example of a narcissistic personality. That's beyond recognizing anything in yourself - that's therapy material, one that he obviously wouldn't accept. How that happened to grow in this guy is beyond me though, maybe some previous faults just went unnoticed. His father didn't see that his son is an uber-twat to everyone? I don't think so.
