He would roll a nat 1 and then reroll and get a 2 then use a luck point and get a 3. He would then think about using one of his divination rolls but realize they were both a 4 and a 5

​@Derick Jones Nah, his divination rolls were both 10s. Because a 4 and a 5 he could just give to his opponents, but a 10 might not be bad enough.

There's definitely something about low HP that focuses the dice. I once rolled 3 nat 20s on 4 attacks when my character got revived from unconsciousness.

Oof, I roll low so I play as the DM. I can't imagine having bad rolls and struggling to be the DM or player

That's why DM's use a screen. So they can never fudge the result, obviously, but also will never crit when it will ruin the story.

Had a throwaway random encounter about halfway through a campaign that was well within the PC's abilities to take care of. The desert zombies (the name slips my mind but it was Pathfinder 2e) rolled nat 20s on every attack and deleted one of the PCs from existence. I have never rolled that well ever before or since 😅 We had a laugh about it later but I felt really bad as we were in the middle of a character arc for that PC.

it's because Ally has THE best storytime rolls and they need a cursed counterpart like Murph lol (remember their nat 20's in the last session of both Fantasy High and Unsleeping City? absolutely amazing)

@@G.F.SF55 Wil Wheaton used to host a show on Geek & Sundry where he would play many board games, including ones that used dice. It quickly became apparent that he couldn't roll high numbers even if his life depended on it. Skip forward to two episodes of Critical Role campaign one, and Matt nearly had an existential crisis because Wil did not roll anything above a five except for a handful of times. Matt even switched dice with Wil to see if it was just the dice, and it was not the dice. At this point everyone just assumed that Wil just couldn't roll high on the dice. That's not true as would quickly be proven by a streamed game of Paranoia on the Geek & Sundry channel. In Paranoia, you want to roll low in order to succeed. Wil rolled a 19 of the bat, and it did not improve much. It was now truly shows that Wil doesn't roll low, he just rolls bad. I also vaguely recall a video in which Wil showed a set of d20s he had rolled out of a container to clean. Nothing was above a 10, and there were at least 10 dice on screen. It is this string of bad luck that has officially become known as the Wil Wheaton dice curse. Wil rolls so poorly and so consistently, that he literally breaks statistics and the laws of physics, and most people who play dice games - especially those who stream - have genuine fear of Wil touching their dice and passing on the curse. Wil is so unfortunate, you could ask him to throw over all the bins, boxes, and containers holding his hundreds of dice and you can promise you will give him 1 million bucks if even one dice is above a 10, and the chance of you walking away not having given him a dime would be higher than you having to hand over the money.

Me. I'm him. Had a campaign as a fighter where I genuinly missed all of my attacks(typically 2-3) a few times almost every combat.

Someone in our campaign had to roll a check last session and got a nat 1. Then someone else pointed out that they used a d12 instead of a d20 on accident. So they rolled again. And they still got a nat 1.
