Did mine a week ago 52 min 12 sec. I just followed the workout did the pull ups and then push ups and then squats... it hit like a bulldozer never been so sore haha love it. I will try to do 20 rounds next week see if that is better

I'm 59. Just completed the 200 push ups per day for a month. Doing the Murph challenge without the weights coming weekend. Wish me luck. Going to need it :)

@@jordanschaefferfitness Yep first time, I'm keen to see what time I can do. My daughter is doing it with me, well the running and she's going to look after counting for me. Should be fun. If I can complete it :) squats worry me.

The breaking up of push ups saved me a lot of time. I started doing half murphs without the running about 3 times a week and the 2nd 5 rounds, the push ups were brutal just because of muscle fatigue from doing 10 in a row and I’d waste so much time. Broke up the push-ups and focused on wasting less time and shaved 7 mins off my best time. Before it would probably take me about 50 mins to do all the reps for the lifts and I think now I could get it down to probably 35-38 mins which would be a huge improvement just from confusing on now blowing out the muscles. Something so simple but super easy to forget.

I purchased a used weight stack assisted pull up machine 100% for working up to completing Murph.

@@jordanschaefferfitness it will be next year. Maybe late this year. My personal training goal is to do it. I have a couple of pounds to go but I will get there! =)

I hit 1:49:52 for my first try yesterday, those pull ups got the best of me😵‍💫 still wanna try for a better time in the future though!

Please rename the pullup type movement that is done in CF, it is confusing to people who can do pullups.

Kipping and butterfly pull-ups are used in CrossFit yes but you should always be able to do strict pull-ups first.

Can't you just pace yourself on the air squats where you just take a pause at the top of the squat and then go right into the Pull-ups. Also, can't you break up the push-ups into 5 reps after 8 reps of air squats then finish the last 7 reps of Air Squats then go into pull ups.

Yeah you could structure it a lot of different ways. I would recommend trying to stick to 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 air squats as long as you can and then once fatigue sets in if you need to partition reps different you can. The 15 air squats are already active recovery so I would try and crank all 15 out in a row. Are you crushing Murph today?

@@jordanschaefferfitness Here some challenges of mine 2000 m Rowling - 7:45,4 Clean and jerk 62 kg. 12 reps - 4:22 Pull ups 20 reps -0:27 Push ups 50 reps - 1:27: Treadmill 2000 m - 10:49 All together including resting 29:11 min.

In the games they do them all separate 100, chin ups, don't know why Americans call them pull ups still, then 200 push ups, then 300 squats, not a fan of the kipping on the chin ups, slowly starting to see crossfitters not do it which is good, Keep charging

Where are you from? That’s interesting you call them chin ups. We call underhand pull-ups chin ups and overhand pull-ups just pullups.

@@jordanschaefferfitness looked into it looks like the reverse bench press are Australian chin ups, that makes sense now, why people would call the pull up a chin up in gyms over here

If you’re competing for a record that’s technically how you would do it. For most people partitioning the reps is the way to go!

He means you do kipping pull up, not strict pull up.

@@olivierpicq3481 in a workout like Murph yeah Kipping pull-ups are the way to go of you know how. In regular strength workouts strict pull-ups are the way to go they will build more strength and muscle

I know that is the way to go but I will keep my strict form even if my time is suffering from it. It is better for the muscle and the joint.
