This week, we take a closer look at one of the high points of Corvette style and power with this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette roadster featuring the 435 HP L71 427 V8 under the hood. This beautiful Daytona Yellow 4-speed Corvette is nearly all original, and is showing just over 30,000 miles on the odometer. Even the original analog clock still works! It's an amazing car from the Brothers Collection.

Probably my all time favorite right there. That yellow has really grown on me lately. Stradman just picked up his new Z06 this week but this car is out of this world 🌎

The 1969 427 071 Corvette, with its clean simple lines, is the most beautiful roadster ever!!! (Contrary to today's roadsters, no need of agressive bumps and exagerated lines to be a lovely car!)

The C3 had killer lines. It looked like a Hot Wheels car. It is one of the coolest cars ever made. Gorgeous looks, horsepower, and good suspension made this a true sports car.

In 1969 there is the HOLY GRAIL of the Chevy 427. He neglects to mention the 2 aluminum ZL1 427 cars built. The Can Am racing engine was also installed in 69 '69 Camaros for drag racing......the engine was sold at an approximate $4,000 option price and was never really intended for street cars. It has no good use in the Corvette vs the very similar L88 Iron block 427 that was virtually the same motor yet with a 100pd heavier iron block...... but it was offered anyway because no one at GM wanted to tell any prospective Corvette buyer that the TOP DOG/High Tech engine was available Camaro but wasn't available in the Corvette. In the end only two were built because the price tag attached was just over-the-top stupid expensive. One of the 2 cars is in private hands today and when it sells at auction nobody doubts that it will be the most expensive Corvette ever sold.

The color has grown on me to where it's one of my favs. Only on this Vette though. It would look silly on my Caddy.

My best friend/best man in my wedding had an orange/red '69 convertible. We have some great memories in that car, even though the engine (350) and M22 transmission needed a rebuild. We rebuilt the engine and then he sold it. That's how he was back then. He went through cars like underwear.

71-72 Corvettes are practically identical to the 70 with the "egg crate" grilles and side accents...just the horsepower dropoffs although in 71 it had its last hurrah with power in the form of a solid lifter 10:5:1 compression 454 making 425 ponies.(LS-5, I think) Few were made in comparison the the only other offered 454 which had dropped from its 1970 rating of 390 hp to 365 in 1971. I had a 1970 with the 390 hp version and found it to be a tick slower that the 1969 427- 390 hp version. The LS-7 460 HP 454 solid lifter that was destined to make it into the 1970 Corvette never found its way under the hood and an LS-6 ..450 HP solid lifter version was put in the 1970 SS Chevelles which angered the top execs at GM that wanted the Corvette to always be its flagship when it came to power offerings. The 1971 with the LS-5..425 HP was the main reason for that motor to in a way make up for what they felt the previous year Corvette had denied them of and the Chevelle owners were able to order what the Corvette owners couldn't get under their hoods.

And the max compression ratio in 71 was 9 to 1 as 71 began GM's mandate for all engines to be able to be run on the lower octane unleaded fuels.

sir,awesome vette,you should do a video of the mako shark/manta ray vette another request video of the chevy yenko vega/cosworth vega,not realy a muscle car but sporty lil car with yenko badging on it.
