Just some tips to quit music(I believe these works) 1. Limit your chances of listening to music. For example if u have songs in your phone, delete them. If you're watching a video and it has music then mute it. 2. Try to listen to Quran more.(It literally heals heart and a next level of peace) 3.When you have the urge to listen to music, tell yourself "NO!! Just for the sake of Allah. He'll be happy to see me fighting against my nafs" (Besides it really feels soooo good defeating shaitaan) 4. Those who have habit of listening to music during long drives. Some alternatives- podcast, knowledgeable lecture and the best Quran.(Just plug your headphones and turn on your favorite surah. I do this all the time while traveling and believe me it's really calming and peaceful) 5. And the last but not the least. Ask Allah for guidance all the time. May Allah make it easy for us.

@@azmeergamingff227 Yes Nasheed is an alternative but nowadays Nasheeds are mixed with shirk, female voice and vocals imitating instruments. And some ppl choose nasheed over Quran😕 so it's better to keep it optional and focus on Quran mainly.

Music is *forbidden* in the Quran _implicitly_ (even though it doesn't discuss music) because of the many verses that proclaim Muhammad as the spokesperson for Allah & he denounced Musical instruments. Hence Sharia also calls for the el𝜄mination of musical instruments, and _"those who listen to singers will have their ears filled with lead on judgement day"_ (r 40.1). Ibn Kathir, VII, 571: _“the doomed, those who turn away from the Qur’an and do not benefit from hearing the Words of Allah. Instead, they turn to listening to flutes and singing accompanied by musical instruments.”_

As someone who played a lot of instruments up until 2 years ago, I would like to share my experience, at one point I had to take a break from music because of health, and I immediately noticed a huge change in my mood (was more stable), my mind was clear, less emotional, more focus, and I was more collected all together I couldn't believe it. Now imagine all of us everyday consuming all of this noise that constantly distracts our brain whether we are conscious of it or not, it does have an effect on our focus, without focus we are doing everything in life with less precision and accuracy, taking more time to study and forgetting faster, why would anyone want that? Even non muslims today are becoming aware of this and you can find the videos on KZfaq, but needless to say, we should never question God's instructions, we all know it is ALWAYS for our own good, maybe today someone can't explain it scientifically but am sure tomorrow someone will, why we continue to hurt ourselves by being so arrogant thinking we know more than what God commanded us to do. You guys try it for 3 days, no music at all, and am sure you'll feel so much peace like I did. May Allah guide us to the right path. A small sacrifice today has a better reward in the afterlife.

I agree, when I quit music I became far more focused and my thirst for knowledge returned that I lost long time ago, I used to constantly learn new things all day everyday max focus, but then it stopped and I wasn't like that until i quit music decade later, and now I'm back to that. Allhamdulillah.

One thing that has helped me lessen listening to music is deleting my previously saved songs and click on not interested on the songs being recommended on the home page ( so I dont have to urge to click on them and listen) . Now u dont have "not interested" option on youtube so removing from history the listened song videos helps to not have them on home page as well .

In my opinion : Music plays with our feelings there are so many songs which are attached with our sad feelings and when we listen they makes us upset there are so many songs when we listen them we feel we are just out of the world we dont care about any thing any one when i mean music control our feelings easily it can make us sad even we are happy in the present but remind us our past sometimes we feel we are too much strong etc it plays our mind .... music can easily control us

I am muslim, I've grown to be apathetic to music over the years. Specifically 6-7 years now. Why? Because i've been listening to them over and over to try and be able to play them on piano. Sure, i might enjoy music but it feels insignificant imo that i can quit it at any time. What i CAN'T seem to quit is piano. Probably because i see it more as a skill/hobby rather than a substance that gives pleasure. Though idrk. Only recently i got the message that music was haram because here in egypt nobody actually told me it was haram. Yet zakir naik in the video seems to mention the reason as in the lyrics making no sense. Someone explain
@DROPUXX5 ай бұрын
We muslims believe music is haram simply because the prophet muhammad has said so.. Here is the reference that prophet muhammad (s) has said so (btw this hadees is authentic Sahih al-bukhari 5590): Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection." I hope this helps 🤗
@Timeless56_No.256_a5 ай бұрын
@@DROPUXX i read it in arabic and got even more confused the word "ma3azif" ("musical instruments" in the translation) more closely means "musician" and after doing some research i discovered that music originated as a weird form of sexual persuasion. similarly sculptures and drawings back then used to be for worshipping but isn't this day so i think from what i understood, music shouldn't have haram intents or else it will be haram. obviously. and i think haram reasons were very popular back in their day which is why that was mentioned? i am not treating this as if music is completely halal. as i said, i got even more confused. (and this topic may be up for further discussion)

@@Timeless56_No.256_ahmm almost all of the scholars agree with music being haram.. I was a music addict until last year and I even have a piano I used to practice on.. I've stopped listening to music and try to avoid it as much as i can. tust me brother it gets easier after sometime oh btw listening to music might be bad BUT publicizing it is even WORSE..(making others hear it too, for example uploading a video that has music in it- You get the punishment for everyone who hears it) I had a yt channel over 15k full of music and i was about to start earning from it. i've stopped it after doing many research. Good luck bro research more :)

There's quite some evidence on the permissibility of music. I'll list some: - Aisha narrates a female companion talking about her husband playing the Mizhar (Oud; stringed instrument). (Sahih Al-Bukhari b. 67 h. 123, Sahih Muslim b. 44, h. 135). An-Nawawi, Abu 'Abeed, and the Jumhoor understood it as the Oud. - In the hadeeth of Jabir he explains the word "Lahu" in the final verse of Surah Al Jumuah where he said the slave girls would play drums and flutes when getting married. At-Tabari mentions and accepts narration this in his tafseer, especially as Jabir was a Sahabi and witnessed this, and this narration is Saheeh. The verse was revealed reproaching a group of Sahabah who got distracted and left towards the trading caravans and amusement during Jumuah time. - In another hadeeth of Aisha, the Prophet ﷺ told Aisha if she wanted to listen to a singing girl sing, and he ﷺ gave the girl a Tabaq to beat on like a duff. The word used is قينة which implies a woman who was a singer and known for it as the Prophet ﷺ said "the singing girl of Bani so-and-so". - In another hadeeth of Aisha, the Prophet ﷺ asked Aisha if she was going to take Lahu (entertainment and amusement) for a wedding she was going to. He said "the Ansār are fond of Lahu". In the early generations it is well-known the Medinian scholars were upon a consensus that music was permissible. Notice: the Ansār are the Medinians, and there is other evidences of Sahabah asking other Sahabah why they are having singing gatherings and the Ansār would say "the Prophet ﷺ gave us a concession to do this". One cannot blame the Medinian scholars if those that preceded them had concessions and enjoyed Lahu in their own city of the noble Sahabah. - The hadeeth where the Prophet ﷺ is said to have covered his ears when hearing a flute, but he ﷺ did not order his companion to do so or give any ruling regarding the matter, nor did he tell off the person playing the flute. Despite discussions on the authenticity of this narration it is still used as evidence by those who argue for music being haram. There's more evidences but this suffices to let everyone know this issue is more than meets the eye.

Salam, I have done research regarding this and here is what I have gathered: Lyrics that have bad words are not allowed for obvious reasons. Music from instruments such as the piano in your case, can realese certain frequencies and waves in your brain which can cause a dopamine rush temporarily but in the long term, it causes mental health issues like depression. Apart from this, musical instruments are just haram as said so in the hadith that the person gave below, ( Sahih al-bukhari 5590 ), which is the word of Prophet Muhammad PBUH and therefore it is the word of Allah, as the Prophet never told us anything from himself, he just delivered the word of God and it is expected of us to follow the word of God without any hesitance. Lastly, there is an opinion that vocals of songs are allowed as long as they dont have immorality in them. Hope this helped. Allah knows best.
