Да ладно Вот это коллаб!! Не ожидал такого вообще O_o Frederick Viner -- очень крутой чел. Обожаю его видосы! Я бы очень хотел коллаб ещё и с *En blanc et noir.* Это тоже композитор, который мастерски раскладывает по полочкам композиционные техники композиторов и сочиняет произведения в их стиле.

Another great video! Villa-Lobos cites a Brazilian children’s folk song called “Ciranda, cirandinha” in Polichinelo. It’s kind of a modern like harmony to it. Greetings from Brazil!

Cool video! I’m a composer but I must say I liked Denis’ analysis better overall! 4:44 I don’t see where he gets a D chord out of this, looks to me like F# dominant 7th with the inner voice B passing to A#. At a quick glance I’d analyze the piece as a series of altered/decorated dominant chords that never resolve which would make sense with the theme of desire. Like Debussy’s parallel dominant chords, Scriabin loves to use a non-functional dominant sound and just transpose it all over the place.

Thanks for watching and commenting! Do you mean F#7 b5 then? Probably Frederick was thinking of D because of that C natural at the bottom, which probably conveys more tension if you perceive it as a 7th, not as flat 5, but that’s just a guess, we didn’t discuss this with him.

Yeah that’s a wide spread idea which seems to be evident and seductive, but it’s still a huge stretch, and can’t withhold a critical approach…

Very interesting, thanks for this. I am passionate about late Scriabin and Gaspard de la Nuit, so this is right up my alley. Also, why do you have such a heavy action on your home piano? I note that in George Antheil's autobiography "Bad Boy of Music," he says that he bought the piano with the heaviest action he could find to practice on at home, so that when he played a concert the normal piano would feel very light and easy to play.

I bought it at a special discount during a COVID lockdown without an opportunity to even try it. I knew it was generally good because it belonged to a concert pianist, the wife of a Kawai artistic director. She bought it 20 years ago for the same reasons, despite Kawai technicians warning her about a small bug that actually makes it tough. When I am rich, I will probably buy a very light piano as well to have both extremes at hand. It's useful to practice on heavier pianos; this is one of the reasons I have progressed much in improving my playing towards a more ergonomic style. The only drawback is that it gives me a bit of a hard time when recording. Nevertheless, I will release KZfaq videos and courses on Ondine and Scarbo soon. Stay tuned.

11:26 -- Если Джордж Гершвин построил мост над рекой, соединявший 2 берега: классику и джаз. То *Николай Капустин,* подобно Моисею, простёр руку свою на море и сделал море сушею, и расступились воды. И более не были разделены джаз и классика. Мне очень жалко, что о Николае Капустине так мало говорят. Особенно, когда упоминают и джаз, и классику. Ведь этот гений совершил такую революцию в мире музыки!.. о которой почему-то знает не так много людей

13:59 -- Это можно посчитать за целотоновую гамму, да... но, по идее, это ни что иное, как *Coltrane Changes* Они были изобретены НЕ им, но почему-то называются в честь его имени. Хотя первым использовал такой "гармонический приём" именно Морис Равель

Да, об этом говорилось в одном видео анализе, я помню, но в целом в муз анализе много вариантов интерпретации

У Кольтрана там всё-таки чередуются мажорные с доминантами, а не минорные с доминантами как у Равеля, хотя тот кто сделал мем с мешапом giant steps и этим произведением, он гений) Если же побыть немного душнилой, то идея повторить V -> I в трех тональностях отстоящих на мажорную терцию такая математически симметричная, что даже сложно сказать нужно ли к ней обязательно прикреплять имя композитора кто первый придумал как из нее сделать классную музыку, тут целых два придумали шедевр, мне кажется что даже если бы Кольтран украл это у Равеля, это не делает его Giant steps менее впечатляющей музыкой
