A costly and proper acoustic treatment will be coming in the winter, after THAT it will looks and more importantly will sound much better.

I like your review style very much though I’m not looking for another preamplifier nor another dac I did purchase the Musician Aquarius dac just out of interest after reading your thorough and insightful review . Keep up the good work !

What's up with the Denafrips pre-amp look a likes?😯 Same knobs, same display. Same aluminum case design. I'll bet the remote is an aluminum design as well - reminiscent of Denafrips as well. BTW, that amp is pretty much a copy of the Denafrips Hastia, sans the curved front plate design. Perhaps you should compare the Hastia against the Musician? 😊

Hi Sandu, I really enjoy reading your reviews which are always comprehensive and inspiring. I am currently connecting SMSL DO200 to NuPrime ST-10 power amp directly, using DO200's built-in volume control. The sound is surprising good to my ears but just lack a bit of 3D soundstage and low-volume dynamics. Would a dedicated pre-amp help?
I value holographic soundstage, lush vocal/mid-range but without losing details and dynamics especially at low volume (too greedy!). I listen to vocal, jazz and pop music a lot. Would Monoceros fit? Thanks.

The knobs, the display and the back side look identical to the DENAFRIPS HESTIA PREAMP.

because it is a rebranded denafrips. same as the pegasus being a rebranded ares.

The PCB is very similar too. Has to be different version of the same design.

That is perfectly fine, system matching is always important and in certain cases, tubes can add a layer of refinement and smoothness that transistors just cannot.

$1200 and they dont give you a power cord. WTF is that about? Is the screen dimmable?

There are many brands that don't put power cords in their package. Can't dim its screen

How is this different from the "Ladder Bach" preamp for $899 just reviewed by IWII reviews? Or the "Denafrips Hestia" for $1,069? This one's $1,169 & ALL 3 are IDENTICAL. lol..chinese rip-offs 🔈🔉🔊

Using streaming to review gear will never tell you how good it is. Streaming has so many issues based on how it is received and all the compression issues caused by routers' time of day and use. To compare just take a streaming movie and compare it to a Blu-ray or 4K disc and from picture to sound no contest. Streaming is good for convenience and it's hip in the world of wifi for ovens, refrigerators, and so on. Stay with discs or LP's.

A router never compresses frequencies of any audio track, ever, under no circumstances. Only the quantity of info (audio file) distributed to connection ports in terms of Mbps. It's a signals "route" distributor. Audio compression can only occur during the original recording or the original synthetic (midi) production. Streamers reduce resolution to reduce signal lag or buffering but the full recorded frequency range (however compressed it may or not be) is still there. Compression, resolution & speed are objectively separate. 🔈🔉🔊
