I agree 100% that it was too short! The Pentaholics knew it was Pentatonix the first line of their first performance. Scott's voice was a dead giveaway!

U can't fool pentaholics we all knew it was PTX

All the PTX fans knew it was them as soon as they began their first performance. It's due to the show's time constraints that the songs are so short. I'm hoping that PTX re-arranges this cover of Creep and makes an official video of it...same with Paparazzi.

They don't have to audition . . . they are invited by the Network to mask up and perform and give obscure clues as to who they are. From the first note when the first appeared, Scott Hoying could NOT disguise his voice no matter how hard he tried. Their sound is SO unique, BUT two of the judges guessed them before they were unmasked. Then it became a Pentatonix concert. What a treat that had to have been for the entire audience!

Mitch goes up in the rafters and he does it effortlessly, no strain at all. Just normal for him. Mitch might be the reincarnation of Freddie Mercury. Freddie died in November 1991 and Mitch was born in July 1992. He can also grow the Freddie mustache. It is so close to matching it is kinda creepy.

First note I was like this is so Pentatonix, there style is unlike anyone else so it’s almost impossible not to know it’s them

Oh yeah, knew it was them right away. And this song sealed the deal, I absolutely love their cover of one of my fave songs. I really wanted them to win and thought for sure they would based on their talent alone. Awesome you watched it!

By far, their best live performance...in my opinion

They are so awesome. Please keep reacting to them. For an awesome live performance you should react to "Joyful Joyful" Live from the evergreen experience. Yes you should also watch all of the performances from the masked singer. Also you can react to how it all began when they won the Sing Off. Each performance is awesome.

A lot of us knew from the very beginning of the first performance.

I saw them live in concert and they sound exactly the same live as they do in the music videos and also I watched that season and I knew from the first time Scott sang his first note that it was a pentatonix. I think Mitch, the one with the mustache looks kind of like Freddie Mercury with that mustache. I think they should’ve won that show they came in second I believe I was surprised that they didn’t win.

I'm pretty sure every time they guessed something other than Pentatonix, they were just lying for TV, lol. Scott tried to hide his voice a little in the first performance, but he failed dramatically, lol. They also added background music and didn't have Kevin beatbox until their final song performed the same day they did this Creep outtro. To be fair, I was only 99% it was them on the first song until later in the arrangement when they harmonized and I clearly heard Mitch. So, yeah, after that it was just a matter of enjoying Pentatonix cavorting around as sushi, lol.

Half the planet, on Scott's first note of the first song they did as California Roll, knew it was Scott and could deduce it was Pentatonix.

I think the only people who didn't know it was PTX after 5 seconds of the first performance were people who had never heard them before. Supposedly Scott tried to disguise his voice (he sang lead on the first two songs they did), but that's apparently not one of his talents! One of the judges even mentioned Pentatonix as a possibility after hearing their first performance. The thing to remember is that it's A) entertainment, so they have to try to keep the "suspense" going as long as possible, and B) it's a business - having all of the judges just come out and say, "That was Pentatonix, no doubt about it" wouldn't make for a show that would keep people tuning in and coming back. I think my favorite song they did was Total Eclipse of the Heart, because they had Kirstie singing lead for most of it, but everybody actually got to sing a solo line or two, which showed the audience that all of them were singers. That wasn't completely obvious in their first two songs, because with Scott singing lead, most of the others were just doing harmonies, and their voices really didn't make as much of an impression. They ended that song with a little a cappella action (without the backing instrumental tracks), and even did the Pentatonix "everyone sings a different melody line at the same time, but comes back together in the end".

Everyone knew it was PTX from the first 10 seconds of their first appearance. Worst kept secret in the history of Masked Singer.

We did guess it with the very first note of the very first song they did (Paprazzi - Lady Gaga). The moment Scott opened his mouth, the Pentaholics knew. Reality shows aren't what they are portrayed to be. It is pretty manipulated. Two of the judges knew immediately.

Mitch is Killer!

The identity of California Roll was one of the worst kept secrets ever. There was instrumental music behind them, and so what? Their voices were a dead giveaway. The only pentaholic I know of who was doubtful for more than 30 seconds was a reactor who correctly identified Scott's voice immediately, but didn't immediately see that the others were there and was confused by the name of the group being "California Roll" instead of "California Rolls." So he thought California Roll was Scott, for a couple of minutes. They avoided any beatboxing in the early performances because Kevin's skill would make it obvious, but it was already obvious. I heard some reactors trying to come up with other bands it could be (I don't know why); they suggested The Jackson 5 (ignoring the fact that Michael Jackson is dead) and The Beatles (ignoring the facts that The Beatles had four members, not five, and John is dead). Utterly ridiculous. It HAD to be Pentatonix.

This show is filmed all in a couple of days or less with the same audience the whole time so if that audience doesn't know then it would stay that way the entire series. all of us pentaholics knew it was them from the first moment! also the show uses clips from other audiences and the audience from other people's performances just in the final production , so it seems staged. I dont just think that because PTX came in third i really think since there is no participation outside that building that its staged but it is cool to see that some people can sing when you didn't know it.
