Musicians react to Dimash Kudaibergen singing Daybreak at the Bastau 2017 concert for the first time! This was absolutely a stunning and magical performance!! I absolutely LOVED it and the whole fountain show behind him was amazing. STELLAR performance, I think you can tell how much I loved it from just my facial expressions. Also, thank you SO MUCH TO PILLOW PETS for sending us some product!! Literally, I am so surprised that we got sent these pillows especially since they are out of stock currently, but they are precious and I'm happy to have them be part of the reaction family now! Feel free to tell us more ideas for the next reaction, as always :)

Greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾! It wasn't a natural disaster, it was a cable car accident in China where 14 people died. The only survivor was a 2 year old boy, his parents lifted him up when they fell down and thanks to that the baby was saved. The woman who composed the song adopted the child. Stay safe guys!

As has been mentioned, the composer of the song wrote it to honour the sacrifice of a couple who in a split second realization, during a cable car accident, knew the only way their toddler may survive was to hold him above their heads so their bodies would take the brunt of the impact. Being only two, he of course wouldn't remember most of what happened, but Han Hong researched the event even taking a cable car ride to better understand the tragedy, and having lost her own father at around 5 or 6 years old may have used her own tragedy to write the lyrics, and feeling for the orphaned child, later adopted him. He'd be in his early to mid 20's now and apparently doing well. Dimash said he'd heard the song when he was very young and it made him tremble. Both he and Han Hong sing it with much reverence to unconditional love.

This really was an insane performance ...... one of my all-time favorites. The story is of a small child who is with his parents in a cable car when there is a terrible accident that killed his parents, who had lifted him to safety before the crash. So when he speaks of building a garden , it's in honor of his deceased parents.

Back story- True story of a 2 1/2 yr old boy who was lifted to safety by his parents in a cable car accident. He watched his parents fall to their deaths. Han Hong (a famous Chinese singer) heard of the story and found the boy and adopted him. She then wrote this song and it is well known throughout China. Dimash had heard the song and was very moved by it. When he was on 'I Am Singer' show in China, he asked Han Hong if he could sing it, and she said yes. Dimash became very ill before his performance and had to have injections in his throat and told not to sing high notes. He lost his voice, but was able to give a very moving performance in spite of being in incredible pain. He lost his voice again afterwards. This performance at Bastau is after that and Dimash did an unbelievable concert! He is definitely NOT ill and is instead in perfect form singing 'Daybreak'. I think that it is a performance that no one else could repeat.

The tragic true backstory of this song is very important to know. Please do check out the version from the Chinese Singer 2017 on Gloria Wu's Channel. It gives the story more depth of understanding. Also in the competition version Dimash was very sick and lost his voice and it was stunning to see him follow through and regain enough to perform. Dimash is a beautiful human and I love each time he sings this. Tears are flowing. I see you also noticed the fabulous production. From what I've seen the team he has puts out all the stops for every concert. I can't wait to see him in person someday. Thanks for the reaction and I have subscribed to Sean Daniels. ;)

The one thing fans know about Dimash is whether singing a song written for him or doing a cover it must move him. This song was picked as a song he sang on the show. He stated when he heard it his whole body shook. It’s a true story of a cable car accident that claim the live of the 2 year old parents in China. The composer wrote the song to honor the parents who lifted the boy to safety. The composer adopted him. Dimash loves poems or songs of heartbreak. I believe autumn strong is also a true story. Wow I love how the guy feels the story from the lyrics and the girl feels it from the voice. There are usually two type of reactors: one who read the sub and one who just listen, but Dimash usually makes sure it’s great either way. Yes, the song is based on a true tragedy. Dimash sings it from a child perspective. That crying in the middle part always gets me, it chokes of raw devastation emotion.

This song is about a boy recalling the death of his parents in his constant nightmares/dreams. He sees visions of his mother telling him soon Day break will arrive and he will be relieved by awakening from his dreams. The garden he wishes to create is his shrine to his dead parents. The water fountains I believe represent the flowing tears of the child in his dreams. Notice they are gone when he sings in a deep adult male voice, when the man is awake. This is a song based on a true story of a cable car disaster in China. This is Dimash's cover of the song that was written by a singer who ended up adopting the orphaned boy.

Не принимайте близко к сердцу. Давно заметил,что музыканты прагматичны в этом смысле. Они обращают внимание на вокал и музыкальное сопровождение.

Erlan Bekchurin, Dimash's arranger, doesn't care about conventions such as the number of chimes or the number and succession of styles as long as it has the desired musical effect.

The tragic story related to the lyrics took place on October 3, 1999. In Maling Scenic Area, Guizhou, a running cable car suddenly plunged into the ground. At the moment the cable car was dropping, Pan Tianqi and He Yanwen from Nanning City in the car made a spontaneous effort to lift up their child as highest as they could. As a miracle, the 2 years old child named Pan Zihao only suffered a minor injury on his lips, but his parents died one after another. I guess that the "a beautiful garden" of the lyrics meant a monument or a pleasant resting place for the pass away parents.

This was your most entertaining reaction to-date, in spite of Sean's continued insistence on adding an extra syllable to the last word of each of his sentences, and your momentary zombiefied state of being utterly flushed from whatever it was that Dimash had done to you by the end of the song...

There is an xkcd comic where you see a stick figure pulling a lever and then he gets hit by lightning, and it splits into two different images below that where one says "scientist: I wonder if that happens every time" and he pulls the lever again and the other "normal person: I guess I should not do this" This very much applies here because Dimash once very much hurt his knees with one of those jumps down on the stage and his thought was: "well let's start training and trying different ways and finding a manner of jumping on my knees where it works through practice".....

You should have cried a deluge of tears, just like we all did! How were you able to keep smiling through this whole heart-wrenching story? He sings the memories of a man whose parents saved his life when he was a child, and died before his eyes in the process. How dare you be happy? I'm exaggerating of course (I'm slightly in love with you both, I wouldn't want you to think I'm rude🥰), but I really wonder if you got to enjoy the full experience. I would encourage you to listen to it again, alone with yourselves and a pair of headphones.

I feel I need to say that there aren't many reaction videos that I want to see them react to everything I love because I know I will enjoy it, too. For full disclosure I am a serial subscriber which gives you a window into my proclivities. Anyways, the Hua request is a gift. Like me, you will be blessed by the experiences that both of these brilliant artists will add to your life.
