Thank you Joe for the interview. He`s my brother and of course I`m very proud of him. He has been blessed for sure to be so talented and down to earth. I used to come over to Nashville when I would get out for school break and got to meet a lot of different artist of that time. To me, it was a privilege to meet so many artist but also to me, the musicians were the real stars in the recording business. They were the ones who made the artist shine. Thanks again Joe.

Starting back in 1979, when I got a new record, I would look at the list of studio players. That told me what kind of music I would be hearing. Hargus is one of the best. Love his piano on TTH's Little Brown Suitcase, really set the mood for that song.

What a cool dude Pig is. Joe, you always plumb the depths to get every last morsel of interesting information out of all your guests. Plus, you did ask him the one question I would have been hesitant to ask him. "How did you get the name Pig?" I bet everyone that watches your interviews with him, with the exception of Forrest, was hoping you would ask him. Thanks for the musical history lessons and the laughs too Joe! Blessings to all...

@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum It's obvious you two have a wonderful relationship and I know you ask him that because you know everyone would want to know how he got the nickname. It is a question everyone would want to ask and I'm so glad you did because we were all wanting to know the answer. Forrest, Pig's brother left his comment about how proud he was of Pig and of course he knows how Pig got his nickname. The interview was just perfect in every way and lots of fun to watch. He is charming and another incredible talent I'd have never know about if not for you! As always, another 10* interview Joe! Thanks, Keep em coming!

At 15:27 It Sounds Billy knew the structure he wanted but he didn't know what chords to place in that structure and Mr. Robbins picked the best chords possible to place in that structure ( It could have been done so many different ways it's unreal, but none would have been as good as the way Pig Robbins did it ) BTW I was in Spring City TN back in August to see family & i didn't see any acknowledgment plaques to Mr. Robbins ( i asked around and mostly got puzzled looks with I'm not sure as the answer unless i asked everybody that didn't know that there is one and i didn't see it ) I believe he's earned one, don't you Spring City?

@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum I tried very diligently a few years ago to somehow see if I could get the Don Robertson demo on "Please Help Me I'm Falling" where, as the story goes, Don played that slip note style and Chet (I think) asked Floyd to emulate it. One of us must know (sooner or later) was the one recorded in NY. ( Screech poem) The other 12 or so songs on Blonde was recorded in ONLY 3 DAYS! Or nights. Getting the band to start playing so late was to get them to play everything only once. All in one room. And no screens. Real playing and singing. One take. Relax and hurry up🥕

Dylan is legendary for his one takes he hated headphones didn't overdub just loved to play most of his recording live and mainly in one take. Not 6 weeks to make an album like other artists. There's a reason he's the only musician in history to win a Nobel prize for literature.
@ptsmith4660

@@mrjasondylan .. what does Dylan's crap music have to do with the Nobel prize? he won it because the Nobel prize is a fkn joke. Dylan, after his 1960's composition period, sucked, totally sucked. God, I remember attend a concert of Dylan's in the 1980's. To say awful does not incapsulate just how bad it was. The sound of puke hitting the pavement was better music.
@jasfan8247

@@mrjasondylan if you can win a nobelprize for writing and recording quickly then Leonard Cohen will never get it, even though he deserves it. News of the World, album by Queen was recorded and mixed in 2 weeks. Never mind the bollocks took a lot longer (they were recording next door) 😁 Brian May also get his Nobelprize. He wrote Gimme the prize already in '84🗽
