R.I.P. Coolio...

I used to wash dishes and bus tables at a restaurant by an airport in ‘06 when I was 15, I met him while he was having some food waiting on his next flight. I had never met a celebrity before and realizing instantly who he was I was nervous to bus the tables around him while he ate. I guess he picked up on it and asked me if I was okay. I told him that I was nervous because I had never met a celebrity before and I was a fan of gangsters paradise. His energy was so different than I had expected. We chatted for a minute or two and it helped my nervousness so much. Never forgot that day nor will I ever. He asked me what there was to do around my city and I told him and then I had to get back to work. He patted me on the back and told me to keep my grades up and even tho I was working, to not let it effect my grades. He was such a down to earth dude that day. Like a friend you could hang with or something. I told all my friends and they were so jealous lol. RIP Coolio, getting older and seeing my childhood heros pass never gets easy.

He wasn't the most dynamic rapper of his generation but like Tupac his words carried emotion and a realism which really brought his big personality out on records whether it be a darker track like Gangstas paradise or some of his more funky tunes, his legacy is set in stone and will live on through the ages. RIP Coolio 🙏

He was an old school and unfortunately he didn’t know anything about streaming fraud like younger generations. This guy was a legend and every view and stream he has is genuine. That’s why he was in financial problems. That’s sad.

The man made some timeless bangers, that's for sure. gangsters paradise literally never gets old. I grew up listening to that song after coming to the US and it still feels just as fresh as it did back in the 90s.

I worked in a high fashion store and he came in about 2 months before he died. It’s was like 1pm and he was drunk af. He was screaming on the phone on speaker and couldn’t stand. He was being really distrusting and creepy towards the female staff. It was really hard to see him like that
