Thank you for the advice on the servo. I've been on a hunt for a good centering servo, and I'm glad you found the right one... Now i can get the right one😊

Ha ha…as I watched you list off the 11 items, I was like, “Yep, got it, yes that’s right, you betcha!” I like your sneaky servo in the cart trick - gonna have to try that… 😉

Nice. I sometimes use permatex ceramic synthetic brake grease... Does not attack rubber and is insanely water resistant, plus very high anti wear and temperature resistant. Yes I do exclusively use that servos on all my kits. I like that video . Very practical without to high end gear. But I could add 2 more must haves... A quality soldering iron, and a digital heat gun

Great video Rex! Some very handy tips there fella. In all honesty I've never actually bought anything RC from Amazon! Cheers for recommendation on the rally tires, my fazer mk2 goes through tires nearly as quickly as batterys..... I will give these a go! Great content bud! 👍 👍 👍 👍

Great clip, thanks for sharing. I may try those servos. I've been a bit snobby with servos till now, typically dropping 80-120 per servo. Adds up quick!

Nice list Rex! Only a couple items I need. Can you list the kits that include the illusive AW Grease? And what could I do with all my spare silver cans? Lol.
@rexrcs
@rexrcs 11 ай бұрын
Thanks 🤘, glad the list helped even just a little. Listing the kits with antiwear grease would be quite a job but I’ll do the next best thing, answer- typically the higher end tamiya kits with lots of aluminum parts, although ive noticed some of the newer ones dont include it anymore. Spare silver can? Lol ive been sticking them in rc’s that i sell so im down to two handfuls but im sure we all have too many silver cans kicking around. I have seen youtube channels where guys use them for real world projects so I may make some sort of propulsion system for my kids beach boat 🧐

@@rexrcslol yes sir! I worked my way up to domination since starting last summer! The chumps series is very casual, no serious racers out there. That's what keeps it fun though!

I've actually had a lot of fun lately with Tamiya radials on asphalt, they seem to have modest grip, so it's in a fun spot of semidrift with grip. :D I would still say shock pliers are the way to go, as you get a more spread out grip on the shock shaft, I've scratched a few shafts before them, with the shock pliers the nice thing is you can clamp down as hard as you like without fear of scratches. You're right about the brushed(or brushless) motors, its heat that kills them, the magnets lose their property if run too hot, I've got 3 torque tuned motors I've used, they're all in nice nick, but I've done some breaking in testing on them, othervise I'd still run my original in the truck class. The only ESC I've burned is the HW1060, totally my fault from cross connecting the polarities, I almost burned out my xerun X10, but I found out it apparently has protection against reversing poles with bullets. After that scare, I've always painted red on the positive part of a batteries bullet hole surround, and also either use a red wire or red shrink on the bullet solder for the positive, so its harder to get your polarities mixed. :D Great vid of must haves :D

I appreciate the support, glad you got these shocks, add a bit of green marine grease or silicone oring grease with the orings in the bottom cap, no leaks forever. although id change the oil every 10 runs minimum if youre playing in dirt. what are you putting them on?

Subbed... Can ya do me a solid? Jumping back in to it after 35 yrs.. gonna buy a bbx , but I need everything and I'm outta the loop for what I need for everything .. Can I have your opinion on what to get for my bbx , I wanna go brushless. But not too crazy$ ..if you were on a budget Can ya give me an idea on what you'd get for motor/esc , and a controller as well.. insee some on Amazon for like 65 bucks but know nothing about em ,...I'm OLD!...lol I seen the servo you recommended on Amazon vid ... I'd really appreciate it man,,!! 👍

Hi and thanks for the sub! welcome back to the hobby, it's been too long. congrats on your BBX purchase, it's a sharp and unique buggy. the BBX comes with a fairly small pinion gear giving it a good range of throtttle control but wont be very fast with a standard (silver can) motor. In order to to spend the least I would go for a maximum motor rating of 4000KV (brushless non sensored) or approx a 15 turn motor (brushless sensored). with these two motors you will have enough rpm to ring out the gearing. If you go for a lower kv, or a higher turn motor, you will get more torque, but less rpm, allowing you to ncrease the size of your pinion gear for more speed. so it depends which way you want to go, Id recommend going for the first option so you dont have to buy a pinion gear (although it will wear over time causing you to need a new one eventually). Whatever you go with, just make sure its a smaller electronic speed control as space is limited on that buggy. I mentioned in my first video of the BBX that a slipper clutch is something I personally do when I can on a buggy, however Im witnessing that many are having trouble with the slipper being set right and either slipping too much, or its too tight and voids the need for a slipper clutch to begin with. I hope this helps out, let me know if you have anymore question I'll be happy to try and answer. Thanks for the support!
