For those of you new to veganism, I started at the new year many years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. Please note it gets easier after the first year. If you do mess up at the beginning forget it and keep going forward.

Thank you for this advise. Lol. I went plant based on September 4th and I don't hate what I'm eating but I'm not enjoying it either. Which really bothers me because I really want to enjoy my food. So I'm hoping that my taste buds just need more time to adjust. I want health and longevity and my cholesterol went from 220 to 154 eating this way and sugar went from 103 to 91. In two months!
@eduardoo313 жыл бұрын
@@lisapagliaroli8532 it'll happen! During my first year it was rough, I was getting sick of the food I ate regularly, but I learned to enjoy them and other foods I didn't. Nowadays (two yrars later) I'm pretty much set. I have these meals I make regularly and love, but sometimes I'll cook something a bit different to shake things up.

I participated in Veganuary in 2019 with the intention to just do it that one month. My goal was to get to know new healthy recipes and lose a bit of Christmas weight. During that veganuary I learned so much about the animal industry and I also found it incredibly easy to switch to a vegan diet since the food tasted so good. Been vegan since then and never had the desire to go back! Best wishes to everyone trying veganuary in 2021, it’s a great decision to just try it 🥰

@@paolaabril9250 I totally get it! It‘s hard in the beginning to make the switch but you‘ll adjust to it! Every step counts and every vegan item on your grocery receipt is a vote against animal abuse ☺️ I live in Berlin and we have many great vegan meat and fish alternatives in the supermarkets and restaurants but I still don‘t like vegan cheese. Cheese is the only thing I kind of miss but I‘m sure they‘ll develop great alternatives in the coming years and to me it‘s just not worth it to support the dairy industry any longer. I can really recommend trying out recipes from KZfaq from cheaplazyvegan, simnett nutrition and pickuplimes - I learned so much just by copying their recipes, good luck with your journey towards a more plant based life style 🍀☺️

The chickpea salad would be great with a dip/dressing I make of soft tofu, dill pickles, some of the full pickle juice, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and dill to taste. It's so good. I've often make sushi bowls, though I call it sushi salad and toss everything but the Nori in it. I do make the rolls as well but it certainly is much faster and easier this way. I'll add Edamame right into the mix along with carrots, cucumber, green onions and avocado. I get stumped at what else to put in it but I'm loving the idea of bell peppers and I'm thinking grilled eggplant, zucchini and sliced grilled mushrooms might also be great additions.

We are not vegan, but in my family we have a trend towards eating more and more plant-based foods. I think that if the decrease in animal-based foods will happen, it will be through evolution and not revolution. And I am fairly certain that this evolution is already happening. Major organizations do support increased consumption of plant-based foods. In addition, the best way not to have 30% increase in chances of death for up to 3 hours after eating meat products is to also eat a big green salad. I believe that a shift towards more green foods is already happening.
