There are 3 levels of carvings:
Beginners Level - you will learn how to apply quick and simple designs to the different fruits and vegetables.
Intermediate Level - you will progress onto more detailed carving designs for larger centrepiece displays
Advanced Level - How to carve Roses and more flowers. After you master all these flowers - you can apply to larger Fruit & Vegetable such as Watermelon and Pumpkin.

Hi, GCSE art is very interesting !! I think you should try it. I am really looking forward to seeing this. Beet / Beetroot stays outside the fridge longer than the other vegetable - it looks like a real rose. All the best :)

thanks dainielle :) - yellow handle carving knife - i saw they sell it on eBay, a set of three knives, pls search : bird's beak fruit and vegetable knife thailand. - red handle carving knife : they also call bird's beak knife, you can find it at any knife shop or catering supplies (there are also black and white handles as well). please send me a message if you need help about carving !!

I have just started and I am a very beginner so it was hard for me while cutting when it used to cut wrong I used to eat the whole carrot and then start from another one. LOL!

I have just discovered your videos approximately about a week ago. I enjoy many different hobbies but this has peaked my interest. I have no knowledge of what carving tools I should consider. I've noticed different knives in your video. What do you suggest to a beginner? How far in advance can I prepare the carrots? for example: Could I prepare the day before and if so.... How is the best way to keep them freshest as possible? I think you have amazing talent and it's wonderful that you share it! Thanks for the video!

I used only 2 knives for my carvings as you can see on my "carving techniques / tips lessons". You can start with a red handle knife first - you can buy it at any knife shop. Re: carved carrot - you can carved 3 to 4 days in advance, store in an airtight plastic container in the fridge. If they look dry - just soak in cold tap water for 5 minutes. During presentation, you can spray carved flowers with cold water (not iced water). Thank you very much :)

Practice how to hold the knife first - to get used to it / comfortable with it - please see carving techniques / tips lesson One. After that practice carving a Carrot Leaf (Beginners lesson 17) on the chopping board. All the best.... Mutita :)
