It's USMLE Step 1 season (first year ever that it's pass/fail!) and I've ~finally~ decided on how to study for it! Figuring out how to make a plan that incorporates all of my favorite 3rd-party resources took some WORK but I think you all will be surprised at how simple it turned out to be! If any of you have insights or ideas for ways to improve step 1 studying for myself and other med students, put them in the comments I love hearing what you all have to say!
If you’re a med student, in my same boat right now, welcome! You earned a few minutes to relax, relate and commiserate.
There's tons of high-yield content to come in the future - stick around and subscribe so you don't miss any of it!
The point of this channel is to build a community where everyone can feel free to ask ANY question, network, and support each other on this often grueling career path.
Please leave comments or message me on Instagram or Twitter (@heymarls) if you have any suggestions, questions or just want to connect!

Great video! Can I ask how you make flashcards out of uworld questions?
@MarleeM-M
@MarleeM-M 2 жыл бұрын
I just have anki and uworld up on my screen at the same time and when I have a hard time with a uworld question I rewrite the concepts I struggled with onto a new anki card in a specific deck I created just for uworld review. That way I don’t have to go through uworld q’s again, I just work through the uworld review deck which is way faster and more efficient for me.

Yeah I try to get about 200 anki cards in every day from anking and then a deck or two (~50 cards total) from regular school lectures, nothing crazy!

Hi everyone ... I'm also preparing for step 1 ... So u recommend making your own anki cards vs pre-made anki .. your thoughts ... is pre-made anki worth it ..
@MarleeM-M
@MarleeM-M 2 жыл бұрын
I recommend whichever works best for your learning style. For me a mix of my own and pre-made worked great to maximize efficiency (minimizing amount of time spent making cards) while also getting in the extra repetition/integration by making my own when necessary. Good luck on step, you got this!!

I would look at uworld’s breakdown of which categories you’re struggling with and focus on strengthening those areas using whichever resource(s) you learn from best. Best of luck in July!
