I have a HUGE planner stack / planner line-up for 2023 - and I may even be adding more to this pile before next year starts.
I've never made a planner stack / planner line-up video before, because for the last six years it would have been just one book (to rule them all) - a blank journal, which I used as my bullet journal and spiritual / creative planner. This year a LOT has changed, and I now I do have a planner stack, so I thought I would share it.
I'm sorry I didn't share the digital portions of my planning system. I'm still not great at filming those things and I didn't have a lot of time to fuss around with it today. But at the moment I am also using iCal for appointments and Notion for the other planning type content which would have been in my bullet journal before. I am tracking periods and workouts in Fitbit at the moment, but I have a new smart watch coming for Christmas so will likely be moving to a different app. All of this is subject to change, as we all should be.

Welcome kindred, I’m Jessica.
I’m on a magical, healing adventure with journaling, tarot, astrology, and creative self discovery. Here I share the tools, inspiration, and resources I gather along my path of deepening self-awareness and connection with All That Is.
My intention for this channel is for it to be a soothing and sacred space which meets you where you are on your journey of creative exploration and spiritual connection; a place where you can come to find ideas and inspiration - gathered over my decades of journaling, witchery, and working with the cards - to help you to weave your own authentic and life affirming practices. Practices which are rooted in a deeper understanding of this world as a place where magic is real, and where we can work with our own stories to weave what happens next.

Hi Annie, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. So far it’s going well with my journal, Writual, honeycomb, and the pre-printed planners but I haven’t made much headway with the art journal for my word of the year 😆 It is a weird shift from the one-planner-to-rule-them-all state of being. I’m so happy that you have a system which works for you ❤️

The book burning. What a wonderful way to open up space. I am excited to start using my writual planner. I think I will be using it for more personal things and using a regular daily planner for my busy life. I love your planner videos so much. They give me inspiration and ideas for my own.

That sounds so layered and interesting Debbie. Do you find having so many books on the go is helpful? Does it ever feel overwhelming? I’ve been in one book so long I’m a little worried that I’ve added too much too fast 😆 but I feel more excited than worried. Thanks for watching and sharing ❤️

First your journals from previous years are gorgeous. Second I think it's really interesting how you are going to dedicate a book to the word of the year. I added a little section in my Tarot Journal for 2023 so I can write how the word of the year was present for that month. I look forward to seeing how your system works for you. Thanks for sharing. ❤

Lolololol, that is loads! That space between digital and analogue is a funny place to navigate. A LOT of creativity goes into your organisation and written processing, it is really interesting. Like you are really productive Jessica. 👀. I really like your word of the year journal. Let's just say I'm working mine out.... but journaling really helps processing. But so does sharing.... Happy 2023! X

Ooh, lots of pretty journals. I go through phases of keeping most things in one place and then feeling the need to seperate everything out. I'm currently working with multiple journals too but it's been working well for 2022, so I will keep going with it. Will be interested to hear how it goes on Obsidian for you and how you feel it compares with Notion. x

Thank you Tiffany ❤️ I have been seeing a therapist for anxiety this year, maybe that’s part of why I feel ok with more books for 2023 🤔 I hadn’t even thought of that. I'm moving from one book to many as well. I had planned to start with 5 but have just added the honeycomb planner in (although more as reference material, really) but also want to add in another journal at the equinox (my spiritual new year). Now I'm wondering when my stack will stop growing 😆

That’s such a good point. “Minimal mindset” is a really interesting phrase, captures that tendency which can creep in which whispers less is more, less is better, when - just like you said - it’s what will actually support growth is what’s important.

I found that a lot of things "slipped through the cracks" when I had only one journal. I really do find the idea of having everything consolidated appealing, just not very practical for how my brain works. I had a little idea to share for connecting with your word of the year. You could work with the Welsh equivalent for a moonth with family/place ancestors. I'm beginning to work with my ancestors this year and I thought I might share. Anyhoo, love your videos and look forward to watching your journey!
@JessicaandtheMoon
@JessicaandtheMoon Жыл бұрын
Hi Alisha, thank you. I've found things do seem to skip through the cracks whatever system I use. It makes me wonder what are the really important things? I love that you are connecting more with your ancestors this year. It's such a valuable practice. I'm not sure I fully understand your suggestion, do you mean work with a specific ancestor or spirit of place for a month? I tend to connect with ancestors as a whole (on a Saturday) but haven't thought about making specific individual contact on an ongoing basis (apart from with those who I knew in life) so that's an interesting idea. Thank you. Many blessings to you for the coming year.
@alishaf3692
@alishaf3692 Жыл бұрын
@@JessicaandtheMoon Hi Jessica, thank you so much for replying! Working for a moonth was just a suggestion of time, but incorporating it into your regular practice would absolutely work too. My suggestion is to translate your word of the year into Welsh and see how that connects with your ancestors of family and place. Since the place you live is also where some of your family ancestors came from, the language definitely connects the two. I’ve learned that our first languages were, in part, directly developed from mimicking the sounds of local animals (originally probably more for hunting purposes, but I imagine also companionship). So studying the Welsh word may help with bonding not only to your family, but also the place (since you’re still in Wales). I live in America so, I would translate mine into the local indigenous language to connect to place. To connect with my family I’ll have a few languages to translate into (One of them being Welsh!). I’m not sure if I’m explaining that in a way that makes sense. 😅 There is a video by, I believe, Wasoukan that explains it better. He’s a Japanese kimono teacher, but he talks about language and how it was developed and how it connects us with the animals local to where that language developed. It had English subtitles. If I find the name of it I’ll make another reply.
@alishaf3692
@alishaf3692 Жыл бұрын
@@JessicaandtheMoon Wasoukan is the KZfaq channel and the video is something like Wonders of the Japanese Language. The information, though, is applicable to all languages that are indigenous to the area.

@@JessicaandtheMoon I’m excited, but also a little nervous about Ancestor work. So any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. ☺️
@JessicaandtheMoon
@JessicaandtheMoon Жыл бұрын
@@alishaf3692 personally I have found that ancestors are the easiest spirits to work with. They already have a vested interest in your well-being. The only thing to be mindful of is that you are deliberately making contact only with those who are spiritually well and uplifted. (You can work with others to help heal ancestral trauma etc but that’s more specialist and not beginner friendly). They can also be more ambitious for us/ their legacy than we are for ourselves 😆 but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, and you can treat their advice as opinion, not as a have to do. Having a permanent set up which you tend regularly really helps too.

Wow so much work 😊 I’d be interested to hear how you get on with the ottergami journal. I’ve just bought one as I thought b5 would be a nice size for watercolour but so far I’m really disappointed with it and wish I’d hadn’t wasted my money.

@JessicaandtheMoon Жыл бұрын
Thanks Wendy, yes I’ve taken on a lot of books 😆 I was surprised how shiny the Ottergami pages are but then was also surprised that it held the watercolour and it didn’t run anywhere. But I used pastels for this, I suspect it won’t work well with just pigment - is that what you’re using?

For 2022 I had 4 journals / planners and I'll have 6 for 2023. Having things on paper mean a lot to me, it is more personal than on the computer, but I did think about going digital for my job, , not sure if it will work or not

Hi Carolina! It seems like lots of us are adding to our planner stacks this year 👌🏻 The digital transition is kind of a weird no man’s land but has benefits over paper planning in terms of editing. It might work well for work type stuff. I totally agree that for the more personal growth things a paper planner just feels more meaningful ❤️

Hi Julie, I was just replying to your other question about an astrology diary for beginners ☺️ For a journal I would recommend getting a blank one which you can customise yourself (to use alongside a printed planner/ diary). That way you can record your observations and personal insights and growth in a way which evolves organically. Does that make sense?

I don’t feel like I picked is as much as it made itself known to me. I find that with a word of the year practice. It’s not so much about choosing a word that you want, but being open to receiving the word which has the learning you need.
