Honestly and intake is like one of the easiest things to install on most cars. Unless you have a turbo that's under the engine like my 2015 subi, then it's literally just taking the old one off the intake manifold, and putting the new one on and remembering to transfer the MAF sensor

Bryce Boland , uni-bits, step drill, step bit... I've been using them for 20 years and never ever heard someone call them a Christmas tree bit haha. They are the best and a must have bits in any shop. And buy the good ones, not harbor freight. And make sure you get 2 or 3 sizes with extensions for them. You will thank me later..

Don't let tj fool you. Water pump, timing belt, tensioner, etc are required. You have no idea what the actual mileage is on these swaps and every importer says 30k miles but there is zero evidence that is true other than websites that say motors have on average 30k. Always be safe and do the maintenance.

TJ, don't believe that 30,000 mile garbage from engine importers. There is NO tax increase or any other fee increase for owning a car with 30,000 miles or 300,000 miles in Japan. Source: I own a car (and a home) in Japan and have spent more than a decade there. The whole thing was made up by engine importers to boost sales.

Calvin is mart man, he is real mart. He knows his shit. In engineering we learned about shear forces in plates and basically what you're concerned with is the shear force of the motor mount which is dependent on material type, thickness and the surface area that the bolt is tightened onto, oh and the torque applied. A slightly larger hole wont have much effect on the integrity of that mount!

dave f the more miles that more likely for failure. breaking down on highways can cause accidents if you're not carful. some insurance companies help pay for parts if you need it so the less parts you buy the more they save

teege...I hope that you upgraded the tensioner to a billet tensioner bracket. those are prone to crack even on stock motors and granted you'll be running it hard. have fun...2jz's are stout.
