Hi Claudia! Great progress! I love my Tretinoin! I've seen huge differences as well! I was so sad to hear you say, you would smile with sunglasses on because you were so self conscious of your fine line. You were and still are SO beautiful! I hope we can change the way people think about aging women! I see beauty and wisdom in aging women and that is something to celebrate! You're stunning. Take care my friend. 😘♥️🙏

Claudia it’s so great to hear and see you! I wanted to share my experience with Sculptra. I have had 3 vials total now and it wasn’t until 4 weeks or so after my 2nd treatment that I really started seeing results. But, when I did start seeing results, they were impressive and continued to improve week by week. I’m now 2 months out after my 3rd vial and I am SO happy with it. I plan to go back in about 8 months to touch everything up. Just wanted you to know that I had some doubts in the beginning, too. It really is a cumulative treatment. Sending you hugs and hope you are doing great in Paris!! 🥰Joey

Hi Joey, I am so glad you shared your experience with Sculptra, as I was starting to doubt it a bit. After my first treatment, there is hardly a difference, and I just had my second, but now that I heard about your experience, I am more hopeful. Please continue to keep us posted. It is always great to hear from you and I hope you are having a great weekend xx

Ahhhmazing results Claudia! You are aging backwards! I have used Retin A for going on17 years for at least a decade on .1% and every other night. Have been using nuface for 3 years LED mask for a year and just started micro needling 4 months ago.Your videos encourage me that the time I spend caring for my skin and health must be truly helping as I don’t have “before and after” photos which would be very helpful as I def looked younger 17 years ago lol. I do however notice a significant difference having added the LED. Photos are almost impossible for me to see a change in myself so kudos to you for how well you have done with your photos as I know how challenging that is! Love from 🇨🇦

Hi Pandora, it is great to hear from you, thank you so much for your very thoughtful comment! I am envious of you having used Retin A for 17 years! That is amazing and I can only imagine how good it has been for your skin. I know it is very challenging to see differences when we see ourselves in the mirror daily, but I am certain your skin has greatly benefited, not just from the retin a, but everything else you are doing to take care of it and keep it healthy. It is great to hear you are seeing benefits from the LED as well, I do to and also love how absolutely relaxing it is to use. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend, love to Canada from Paris xx

Same here. I have been using .05% for three months 1-2x week and bumped down to .03% for about three months. It’s better but still causes a lot of flaking. I have, however, started noticing some positive changes in the firmness of my skin and neck. I am now trying retinal, which I can use more frequently with less irritation. And I’ll switch out to the tretinoin once a week. We’ll see how that goes.
@claudiaglows
@claudiaglows 2 жыл бұрын
Please keep us posted, Melissa. It is actually not a bad idea to mix different retionoids, so using some retinal or even retinol a few days and tretinoin on the others. Not only can it help cut down on irritation, but Dr Fernandes (is is the pioneer of micro needling) says that each retionoid affects the receptors a bit differently, therefor we can possibly get an broader improvement Please keep us posted xx

Claudia, I definitely see a difference in your skin! I've been using Tretinoin on and off for 12 years. 3 years ago, when I turned 50, I decided to try to establish a more regular routine using it. Like you, I started off very slowly and similarly could tolerate using it nightly by month 6-7. Where I notice the difference in my own skin is around the eyes. I can tolerate on my neck once or twice a week and only by buffering. More than that and my neck becomes very inflamed. Thanks so much for the update!

I am AMAZED!!! The before and after pictures speak for themselves! The difference is so evident! Even with the change of light you can see that your skin condition has improved greatly! I have been using Tretinoin for a few years (two or three, I don’t even remember 😅) and I also see the difference. Some lines have disappeared and I am sure that new ones are not popping up or are taking longer to show up. I am using the 0.1 strength and I can use it on my chest and neck (but once in a while my chest complains) I won’t stop using Tretinoin. I need to add micro needling into my skincare routine. It is on my to do list! Thank you for sharing your experience with Tretinoin. It is really impressive. You look gorgeous, as always! 😍

Hi Claudia, Your skin looks so beautiful. Your dedicated work on your skin really shows, as you do glow. I am finally getting to the place where I can use my Tretinoin every night. It has been approximately 6 months now since I started. My neck also is sensitive. I use CeraVe’s Retin-A type product on my neck. So far, so good! I have also found I can’t use all my devices and products on the same day, as it is too much. My skin revolts. I am up to every other day, and sometimes every day using Tretinoin on my face. Of the facial products I use that I like the best are my Korean toner (I’d pronounce it but it would be wrong, and spelling it is worse) and Maysama Green Rooibos Pressed serum. That just works on my skin. For moisturizer, I am using everything I can get my hands on. I layer it too! Dry skin is all I have….dry and drier! The Tretinoin is drying too. Your face does not appear to be dry. It looks lovely and moist. Thank you for the video. Hope you are enjoying Paris!

Thanks for the video about your Retin-A experience. I just began my journey in September 2021. I have a Cureology subscription. I had never used any Retin-A products. Even though my Tretinoin strength is 0.007, I do have Tranexamic Acid 5% for dark spots and 4% Niacinamide. I have not noticed any lightening of the dark spots but have noticed a softening of deeper wrinkles. My neck seems really dry when I use it and I have to moisturize afterwards. I'm hanging in there and hope to see better results with continued use. Thanks again for sharing your journey! xo

Hey Claudia! I've been using Retin A since it was fda approved in early 70's! I had recalcitrant cystic acne that didn't clear til after 2 courses of Accutane. My skin looks and feels better at 68, than it did at 18! I'm religious about sun care and also use vit c, copper and a BHA. I think I look pretty good for a an old gal and can't wait to see what the future brings in skin care advancements! May I give a few pieces of advice? Ok, I will anyway! 1. Keep your actives and extra hoardings in the fridge. Even unsealed, product will eventually decline. Remember also that many products today brag about being fragrance and preservative free, thus making them more susceptible for the essential oils to turn rancid. 2. My neck is sensitive too! The area of the face that needs the most love, won't receive it! I can't up, so right after cleansing I pat dry, get the Retin A 0.1% on and let it soak in. Then slather a facial oil on to create a barrier. Plus, weather and humidity makes a huge impact on how irritated our skin will be. Humidifier 24/7... 3. Don't forget the backs of your hands! It may change the character of your nails and probably dry your cuticles, but eventually your cuticle skin will be extinct and you won't even notice them. 4. Keep producing excellent content! Citing studies always gives an added note of gravitas!

Hi Andrea, thank you so much for your great, thoughtful comment. And thank you for the tips! Yes, the hands, you are so right, I need to include them. I only had a little bit of irritation when I started tretinoin. I have been using it for a year and a half and I like it. I hear people saying not to use it under the eyes because it thins the skin, yet others say it thickens your skin. Which is true I wonder. I had a big milea appear on my eyelid recently, and so i started using it there. It helped get rid of that. Listening to you and reading the comments, I guess I'm lucky my skin tolerates it well. I do remember a bit of stinging a few times and that was it. Oh, and my neck seems to tolerate it too, although I've just started using it there, so it might be too early to say. Great, informative video. Thank you.

Hi Shirley, you are lucky to handle tretenoin so well. And even on your neck, that is great. If you can handle it under your eyes (some or sensitive just like I am on the neck) you can definitely use it there. But i still retinize and like today have irriation at times from use. I go from Retinols, retinaldehyde and my 0.05 Tret... i mix it up and often put moisturizer or oil before applying Tret. Hi Claudia. I researched how to start tretinoin many years ago and got the same exact tips u mentioned. I don't have sensitive skin but I as I got older (53) my skin is very dry despite taking collagen and phytoceramides. I had no problem with. 25 but could never handle .50. I joined cureology and really like it and get 3 products in 1 so I don't have to think about my skincare anymore. There's tretinoin .035, tranexamic acid 5% and niacinamide 4% . It's easy and I get no irritation. I have no trouble bumping up the tretinoin since I've done it 2x. I started very low. Hope this helps anyone who just can't use tret on its own. Your skin is beautiful. I also buy medical grade skincare and love my skincare "me" time.

Can I suggest an experiment, and maybe a series about tretinoin and sensitive areas? I think the sensitive neck issue (which is common) can be dealt with. My neck was also far too sensitive for my .025 tretinoin. After seeing the amazing results on my face, I committed to trying to acclimate my neck. I started using a very small dot of over -the-counter retinol (Neutrogena) twice a week heavily diluted with a plain, emmoilient cream I knew my neck tolerated well. Very slowly, over months, I increased the amount of retinol in the mix and and frequency of application up to six days a week. Any time I got any tingling sensation or irritation during application, I would wash off the retinol gently and baby my neck for a few days. Now, about six months in, the skin on my neck has adapted, and I can use the over-the-counter retinol without dilution; I have started adding tiny amounts of .01 tretinoin to the retinol cream now. I have seen the same improvements on my neck as on my face, and my skin is getting more tolerant. It just takes steady patience and an abundance of caution. Hopefully this year I can get to .025! And Claudia, thank you so much for all your great content, you are a great help and resource. I hope one day you try retinol on your neck again!

I stopped before , but this time I am mixing the pea size retin A with the moisturizer and it rubs all over the face much easier and the flaking is smaller and not as noticeable . And when my face looks too red I back off for a few days . Also using CeraVe hydrating face wash to restore the moisture barrier . And if the face and neck is too red - I use the aqua phor which was given for after C02 resurfacing .It's a great time because wearing a mask hides most of the peeling .I'm heading into my 2nd month and the skin is looking better

Why do you torture your skin with tretinoin? It doesn‘t work for everyone. Some skin types can not tolerate it, no matter how many decades you try. Buy a good 0.1% retinaldehyde serum or cream and enjoy beautiful skin. Chronic skin inflammation and irritation causes skin aging.

I have been using trentinoin (.025%) for 3 months and have worked my way up to 3 times a week. I avoid under my eyes but that’s where I need the most help! I have genetic eye bags and deep troughs. Hi Laurie, thank you for your very kind comment and for being here. Not a stupid question at all. I use my tretinoin under my eyes and have from the start. I go all the way to my lower waterline without any irritation. I do not use it on the upper lids, simply because I have not even thought about it :) Some will travel however, so applying it on the forehead, some will travel a bit further down to the brow. I would say try applying it under the eyes. If you get any irritation or dryness, you can buffer it with an eye cream or moisturiser. Please let me know how it goes Wishing you a great week

I have thick Filipino skin. I started using tretinoin in my 20s for acne. Then used it off and on in my 30s as anti-aging but didn't really have any wrinkles or laxity so I wasn't as motivated. Now more motivated and using it after my mid 40s. My skin use to peel in my 20s, but now I never peel anymore because I've learn to put a layer over it with heavier cream with nicotinamide and ceramides, and using gentler face cleanser. I've learned to back off when my skin barrier is feeling a bit off. There is always other actives to use on alternate days or use bukuchiol as a tretinoin alternative or AHA/BHA. I've even used 2% retinoic acid peel and left it on overnight several times. I'm immune to peeling from that either. I've also used 70% TCA peels for my acne scars and I shed skin layers from that.

I've used Differin (adapalene) for over a year and literally it has transformed my skin. Not only less acne, but the most smooth and dewy looking skin I never thought I could have in my life. It took me one year to be able to use It every other night, which is great for me. It is also very promising for anti ageing, since adapalene like tret doesn't need to go through any coversions steps, so possibly more effective than any retinols/retinal products. Also it doesn't make you sun sensitive and can be applied in the day. I am now trying tret 0.025% to see how it compares, especially for fine lines of forehead. (I don't think it can make a difference with my skin texture/glow since Differin brought me a huge transformation already!) My skin is struggling to adjust to it, I noticed a little flakiness/dryness sometimes but it'll see how it goes.Can always go back to Differin.

Hi Angelina, you know, I am starting to wonder about that as well. I did ask my doctor if the laser could cause fat loss and he said no and explained that first of the laser does not target the subcutaneous layer and second the heat would have to stay in touch with the skin for longer to cause fat loss. But there could always be an exception to the rule. If you are concerned, I would say make sure your doctor is willing to talk about all the risks and can explain them to you. Please keep us posted

Claudia, I think maybe you need to embrace your beauty and realize you are wonderfully made , you look a little thin in the second photo. When I lost 40 pounds , my cheeks looked very sunken and I thought about filling them and I decided to put some weight back on my body. When I gained some weight back, my face filled out . I watched a doc yesterday on KZfaq on threads and how they really don’t give the results we want. He said instead of spending so much money on produces to think about a face lift , he showed before and after photos which these woman did have great results . I personally am afraid to go that route but he did beautiful work ! I also have Inc more protein into my diet which has helped me a lot. I did not do anything else so it must be the tretinoin. I love tretinoin so much it is my single most favorite product ever. Another thing I want to comment on, and please understand I am not trying to be hurtful, just as we seem to be of similar heritage similar age and I am quite thin as well so we have many of the same problems I feel when it comes to aging. The skin quality has definitely improved for you, clearly to be seen in the before and after. I think your issue why you look more hollowed out in the second picture is substantial bone loss. Which is a nutritional issue, deficiencies etc. If you get this under control you will age much better. Again please do not take this as criticism, I am just trying to give constructive input, I mean no harm. Also I do not know your story but did you go through any dental issues? Would go hand in hand with the bone loss and its important to improve that not only for aesthetic reasons. All the best, big hug.
@claudiaglows
@claudiaglows Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your feedback. However, I do not believe that I have significant bone loss, but simply age related fat loss. My bone structure is actually quite strong, which makes my face more sunken looking. I do have an almost 20 year history of anorexia, which probably has made me age a bit this way as well, but now my diet is well balanced and sufficient. But this is just how my face divide to age;)
@IloveCamels335
@IloveCamels335 Жыл бұрын
@@claudiaglows If you have 20 years history of anorexia then it would almost be a miracle if there was no bone loss. I am not judging you not at all i can relate. I never had an eating disorder per se, I was just not a big eater it was not important to me so i just did not care about it much in my younger years. I would go for days on a bar of chocolate or coffee cause I was busy and couldn’t be bothered. And I always felt it does not negatively impact me. Only in hindsight could I see that it did a lot of damage i was depriving my body of nutrients for many years. And even later when I did realize and I did switch to eating healthily.. i then ate healthy foods but the quantity was still too little which I didn’t know as compared to how I ate before i thought I was eating properly and more than enough. It was a long journey to get to the right place as far as adequate nutrient intake. And my face looks a lot better now. I barely gained weight despite of eating much more now, maybe 2 kgs total, but especially the face looks so much healthier now it’s like night and day. To go back to what I was saying.. The bone structure itself which you are referring to is a different thing, if you have high cheeks etc that’s your genetics that will always be uniquely yours. But the bone has lost lot of its density it’s clear to see when you compare to the before picture. Here I go preaching again🙈 Just it hits home somehow as I know this journey well myself. Its all about adequate nutrition and it just takes a toll over the years if we lack in that department. And now I’ll stop being the “know it all” .. am sure all will be well and I wish you the best for your journey 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@claudiaglows
@claudiaglows Жыл бұрын
@@IloveCamels335Thank you for sharing a bit about yourself. I def. think that having been anorexic has caused some damage, bone loss was luckily not one of them since I was always on estrogen and ran and lifted weights. Where my face is sunken, is no bone really, but a cavity usually filled out by facial fat. So I really do not believe that a nutritional deficiency has caused the hallowing, but simply aging. That being said, we all lose bone mass, even in the face as we age, however I do not think we can compare the two pictures and jump the conclusion that I have inadequate nutrition.
