H S Definitely had dry, flaky and red skin. I am still working into it. I use it and then have peeling and redness. When that goes away , I use again. I just keep going like that! I am using it about twice a week now...hope that helps...

This means I have chronically picked at my skin for YEARS now...but mostly my poor face! :( As you can imagine, the damage adds up. I wish it didn't, as I feel disgusting. It's a tremendously difficult, heartbreaking, and even life ruining disorder to have. I have gone my life without friends or romance, even hiding from my own family because of this.

Her skin appears\IS so much smoother than mine, which of course looks great. I also went through a period of starving myself so I feel like her skin looks more "bouncier" than mine as well, if that makes sense...more plump and healthy, in a good way. I honestly just look tore up and ill so...that's me I guess. SUcks But I still think she's super beautiful regardless though ~

weirdsider it will get better with age- hopefully you will start to like yourself more. Whenever you want to pick at your skin try to redirect your thoughts - its all in the mind really. I had a eating disorder so its similar form of of selfharm.

I'm having the same problem. I've always had pimples since 15 and now I'm 26, those blemishes just don't go away. How did you start? I am actually scared to try. . I've been contemplating if should I use acids, tamanu oil, or retinol. 🤷

Tanya good skincare can start at any age but when you have skin problems from a teenager through your 20s 30s even 40s into 50s is never a bad time not to do skin care but the younger you start you'll learn ups and downs and good and bad as a license as a Titian I can tell you from years of experience that Retin-A cream 0.25% is going to be your best bet especially from October of most years cut it off right at April do not use anything during the summer because it will damage the skin in many ways keep a lot of good sunscreen SPF 50 and higher on your face your body in general but naturally because you are melanated you won't have a lot to worry about if your skin is the way your picture looks is going to be beautiful and it's going to keep out a lot of wrinkles you won't have to do Botox unlike many melanated skin Works far better with Retin-A because it it just really clears up the acne and just keeps the skin even more hydrated of course you want to keep your skin soothe with white shea butter and an apricot oil and sesame seed oil combined let's formulated in helps melanated skin you're going to do just fine just a friendly estheticians response have a blessed 2020 you're going to do great😎💇😇🎆🖤💜💝💙🌬️

@@tanayaclark5634 stick to 0.025 to start with as this translates to about 2.5% retinol. 0.25% treninoin is very high to start with. Also I come from a family of dermatologists.

@@tanayaclark5634 also, to minimise risk, it's good to start using azelaic acid for a few weeks before you use tret as this ensures you're skin will react less to it.

Another tip is to significantly reduce daily intake of carbohydrates, or sugar. If you have too many sugar molecules in your body, they attach themselves to proteins, causing what is called protein glycosylation. Glycated proteins are the culprits of inducing physical aging signs, and cellular structures are no longer being properly synthesized because of the dysfunction of receptors, and proteins themselves. Reduce sugar intake, and take in more Carnosine supplements, if possible.

I am 59 and have been using Retin-A since I was 26. I have very few wrinkles. I started at 1% and backed down to .05 when I added acids and serums a few years ago. I will always use it. Love it!

Absolutely beautiful! Timeless beauty is underrated. Many women don’t take the time to learn about proper skin care and end up using injectables to combat wrinkles and lines (nothing wrong with that). Prevention is key! Prevention + maintenance (Botox etc) = WOW! 26 and I’ve been using a low concentration retinol. Plan to start retin-A once I can get to the doctors! Feeling comfortable and proud of your skin increases your confidence so much! The face you put forward to the world should be one you feel confident in!

Thought I’d pipe in again and let you know that if you keep up the amazing quality info your channel is sure to grow. I commented about a month ago and if I recall you may have had just over 50 subs at the time, and now you have over 100. That’s actually really good growth for a beginning channel. The growth on KZfaq is somewhat exponential (so long as the channel regularly creates excellent content). You create excellent content because you are obviously smart, you’re a natural on camera, you have a popular topic you’re focusing on (mature beauty) and you’re an authority on your topic. You’re an authority because you’ve been practicing beauty techniques for 20 years and your skin proves your techniques are working. So all that to say, don’t lose heart if it feels like your putting in all kinds of hours without much benefit. It will pay off in a couple years. Love your channel!

@@wilted_rose510 I've been vegan and GF for 5 years. No eggs, no dairy, no gluten, etc. Research seems to indicate that diet, unless it's extremely poor, has little effect on acne. I believe dermatologists on this. For some going dairy free does seem to make a difference, but it did not for me.

Aye Gal if I stop using it, yes. That’s just genetics and hormones, though. When I am using it as normal, it keeps my acne in check. And if I stop using it and then start again, it clears my skin. Like it hasn’t lost its effectiveness over time.

It might be fungal acne, go search for fungal acne and see because I had same problem until I heard about malassezia ( stubborn acne which is fungal) hope it help

I started using retin-A at 31, people mistake me for my early 20s. I’ve always been interested in aging gracefully because women like YOU have shown that it can be done! One truly can remain beautiful at ANY age. I don’t intend to stop, I’m currently at 0.05% and still peeling from bumping it up from 0.025%. Once I stop peeling, I’ll use it everyday instead of every other day, and maintain until I feel the need to bump up the dosage. Thank you for sharing your beauty advice with us and reminding me that it is possible with consistency and intent.

Thank you for this very informative and helpful video. I've been using retin A for 13 months now and no results or side effects at all but after seeing your application video I realise I'm not using enough. I was only putting on a small pea sized pump for both my face and neck. From tonight I'll start using much more of it the way you demonstrated and hopefully I'll see some results.

I started my Retin a last year this month. Many people have asked what procedures I’ve had, and the answer is no procedures, just good skincare and retin a. I use the tub of cerave as my night cream. I use the Buffet by the ordinary vs the coenzyme q10 and I top it all off with Rosehip oil. I’ll be 63 in July. All I can say is this stuff works and I will never be without it, ever! Thanks so much for the great video! I subscribed to see more of your journey to preserve my skin. I’m late to the party, but I’m all in and loving life!

I’m 24 and I’ve been devoted to retin-a since I turned 18. I use a 0.1% cream. I don’t intend on ever aging poorly, haha. It’s all about grace! Thank you for the lovely video! You look marvelous :)

I just started my Retin-a treatment this past Thursday. I picked up the .05% and the .1% in Mexico a couple of weeks ago. I used a very small amount on Thursday night, and a little more last night. Both times I put a moisturizer on first (St Ives Shea Butter and Oat). So far so good. No side effects. I keep re-applying the moisturizer. On Friday, my work told us all to work from home until further notice, so this is the perfect time to start my Retin-a journey :0) I've never really had an acne problem; I am using for skin texture, wrinkle prevention, and more importantly - repairing 48 years of sun loving skin damage.

Yes she does have beautiful skin! Its looks amazing for 60 Retin A has a big part in that but keep in mind she did mention in her description she uses botox every 6 months... witch will also alter skin appearance!

Hi ladies, Botox not only helps relax and minimize current lines, but over time actually prevents tension lines from becoming permanent creases/wrinkles! I'm a fan of strategic, low dose Botox for sure. (no frozen face 😊) What it does not do is treat skin texture, tone, radiance, etc. in short...I approach pro aging from as many angles as possible...health, nutrition, skin care, active topicals and serums and of course Botox ❤️

I mix 50/50 Retin-A 0.05% with Eucerin Calming Cream in my hands and apply to damp skin. The cream is cheap and minimizes the redness. I apply that to all the skin that got regular exposure to the sun for the last 50 years - i.e. entire neck, entire face, years, and forearms and hands. I look mid-thirties. Retin-A has been a game-changer for my skin age and I'll be on it for life.

everyone talks about how everyone has good skin in their 20s well I'm watching this because my skin ain't that good and plump and it never has been. got acne at the age of 6 and finally got rid of most of it only this past year after taking isotretinoin for over a year. However, my skin is dull and tired looking, pretty much like an old orange.. I have the looks of a child but the skin complexion of someone in their 30s ugh.. really wanna give Retin A a go after listening to you and Melissa55 so THANKS

Jane Dow Hi Jane, sounds like you are dealing with some challenges. If it makes you feel better, I know that many people who have acne in their younger years have beautiful skin later in life due to the extra oils preventing wrinkles. Hang in there and keep taking good care of your skin. It will pay off!

Hello Ms Jane Dow :) Random question here but have you ever been to Japan? If not, then when this Lockdown Covid-19 situation starts to settle back down you ought to plan a trip. I don't know what it is about the place exactly but every time I go my entire system improves. Acne goes. Bloating goes. Digestion, sleep, skin, hair and basic energy levels all improve. Magic land!

I actually accidentally used a little too much in the demo. A pea sized is recommended so be careful about increasing the amount. Do as I say not as I do LOL 😘
