You're using too much RTV. Lay out a continuous bead about the diameter of a pea. It will spread out as you torque down your parts. Using too much will cause RTV to squeeze out into your engine, pieces will fall off and work their way into the oil pickup screen causing low oil pressure and oil starvation.
