This siren has went through a lot to get here!
Story:
Somewhere in the middle of 2020, me and my dad built an air raid siren with a 6/12 port ratio! I told him that was what we were going for! Dad made the design on his CAD software and printed it out on paper to be able to trace on wood! Dad cut circles and I cut the fins! We put it together with clamps and wood glue, then painted the chopper red and the stator black to make it look cool! Put it on an old electric chainsaw motor that spun way too fast! But the siren made a very high pitched and loud sound! We quickly turned it off and did a few more runs with it! One of the tests, it's motor got fried and we took the siren assembly off of the motor! And left it sitting in storage, collecting dust and being pushed around for 1 1/2 years! Then I got a bench grinder motor for the Christmas of 2021 and shortly after 3D printing some parts and putting the siren assembly on, we got it roaring to life again! But this time, the way I wanted it to sound! I made a synth of what the 6/12 port siren would sound like with an STH-10 recording! And it sounded exactly like the synth I made! And of course, it got a few upgrades over time! It got horns at one point but those broke off and were very sharp! It had a metal cooling fan that blew the wrong way, but I designed and 3D printed a new one that blew the right way! The motor was still getting too warm after a few minutes of run time, so I designed and 3D printed a heat sync to go around the motor! And here we are now with Sunlight 6/12 working his best and he still works to this day! But he still takes about 9 seconds to wind up to full speed!
And there are two other sirens that were made shortly after Sunlight 6/12 was made! Me and dad made a deal to make a siren on our own! I made one called Thunderdrum and dad made one called Fixen!
Thunderdrum was a 4/5 port siren and he was taller and skinnier than Sunlight 6/12! (Hence why it was called Thunderdrum and made to sound like a Thunderbolt 1000t!
Fixen was a 5/6 port siren and the same size as Sunlight 6/12 (That's Five Six port Siren for short)
