my acer nitro 5 makes this noise, what should i do?

Its the fans, needa to be cleaned. I've got this problem before

If it has a hard drive that means it is failing and you want to get your important data off quick or it could just be your fan

Replace both fans, see if it works. I replaced mine because they were making this same noise. Unfortunately after I succesfully replaced the fans I got over-confident and opened it back up to check on it and dropped a screw on the motherboard :(

i just recently fixed my acer nitro 5 an515-57 using some fans ordered off amazon, my fans sounded worse than this, now that i replaced em they work better, i was fortunate to not have dropped any screws because i was extra careful, i tried to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard but it wouldnt budge so i carefully just replaced them with it plugged in, sorry that you were so unfortunate, but now my acer nitro 5 is as quiet as when i bought it, the only problem is, i updated the nvidia gpu driver and mid update is Blue screened, do you know what could be causing that?

It's hard drive. If it's so loud then one of the screw of it might be lose. I had the same issue.

That’s sounds normal maybe try opening it up dusting it and then trying to see what is making the noise?

i’ve done that already, nothing seems to show. everything works fine too other than the noise.

I bumped mine slightly and all of a sudden it’s doing this, like seems like it’s going into overdrive at times or something and I cleaned the fans as well. Did you end up figuring it out?

I have fix this problem in my acer laptop by switching it to power saving mode from high performance.❤👍🏻 Hope it work for you too.

Most likely the fan going bad, if it's the same model I have it comes with an SSD so unless you added an extra hdd then the only moving parts should be the fan

Same issue, fan was already cleaned but same thing. Vibrating, grinding noise.

If you guys opened the Laptop by unscrewing it then you might of moved the fan cuz that happened to me before

@violetta it looks like models of that laptop can ship with a hdd. I'd bet thats what's making the sound.
