This week I showcase another mountain range in Poland, The Pieniny range nestled between Tatry and Bieszczady ranges is a geological marvel and one of the most beautiful yet dramatic pieces of nature you will find, here I share the journey I took with Warsaw Global and give you the experience of this trek!

These trails are wonderful in summer and autumn. I recommend hiking to the top of Sokolica and Trzy Korony when the snow melts. The views from the summits are really spectacular. Also, the town of Krościenko is worth visiting.

I live in Chester currently. I spent last weekend in North Wales. This is my favorite place in the UK. I visited Llandudno, Conwy Castle and Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). I don't know if you know this area? I was in the Pieniny Mountains with French friends almost 30 years ago. We visited this area and lived in Szczawnica. You have to be there in the summer, you have to climb Trzy Korony, sail down the Dunajec River on rafts, visit the castle in Nidzica.

I’m hoping to be able to return this year to the area you mentioned, we’ve found a trail, just looking into timings and feasibility 😊

Can you cross over the border by foot into Slovakia or are you too far away? I have heard that the Slovak side of the border is even more impressive than the Polish side. Some years ago, I rented a car and drove to my wife's relatives who lived literally 's stone's throw' from the border with the Czech Republic. We drove over the border to the Czech Republic for the day and it was an interesting experience, I can not remember the name of the town now but it was the first just after crossing the border. It must have been before the E.U. was expanded as there was a foot crossing that was maned but I could not use it as it was for local people only. You need to hire a car to make such a journey worth while.

It was pretty easy to cross the border over to Slovakia, there were some border markings (small stone posts) but that was the only indication other than your phone network switching over 😅 I did one video from the Slovakian side of the tatra 🙂
