I think you will find that these ceramic fuses are filled will a sand like material and that keeps the fuse element from vibrating .

What's vibrating is the tiny filament inside the fuse. Ceramic fuses usually also contain sand like material inside. More than likely the sand is preventing the filament from vibrating, acting like a damper.

Fuses can definitely make a difference. I suspect the more revealing of a component/system, the easier is it to discern the sonic difference. i dont argue since i didnt try any yet but here is the thing a fuse is basicly a resistor all the current funnel in a thin wire if the resistor value was zero it would not be a fuse it would be a wire according to ohm law p = r×i 2 p = power and heat so if r is 0 then no heath produce i believe it is rhe cheap contact at both end that add up the resistance perhap even creating tiny arcing it is like those cheap bindind post strap on speaker that are cheap material also but then again should not we also change the fuse holder look like crappy material also .....or a cheap power outlet that create tiny arcing because of poreous metal inside i believe your expensive fuse have a better connector reducing the resistance and arcing also the very idea of cleaning the tarnish on fuse holder and the fuse itself might very well make a difference as when you clean the tarnish in iec ac inlet it make a good difference also that is my thought but i will try it for sure but i would not pay 250$ for a fuse ever

@@vpconcepts9838 Agree ceramic is a good conductor of heat, however I do not think the uR variation caused by temperature increase in something a cm long perhaps and in the uR to nano Ohms will actually produce any noticeable power dissipation (P=I^2 * R), I think if you do the math, you can just about negate ANY noticable difference in sound quality. This argument extends to expensive speaker cable myths.
@engjds
@engjds Жыл бұрын
@@vpconcepts9838 Heres a tip, to improve the performance significantly of ANY power amp, put in more PSU capacitors at same or higher voltage with as much capacitence as you can afford. Even good amps might only use 10,000uf per supply rail, they do this to keep margins high, BUT the ripple rejection at high currents-mainly bass will suffer. For a typical 100W amp using 10,000uF, you get only 1% load regulation, taking this up to 100,000uF 0.1% an so on as a rule. IMO based on calculations, cabling, fuses and the like will bring insignificant benefits-beyond the threhold of hearing, but more caps will help just about any low to high end amp unless you pay very silly money. As will replacing cage type transformers with Torroidal will usually improve regulation too on the AC end.
