The glass table, the gear rack between the speakers and the mirror behind the rack with no treatment whatsoever - I hope that Macintosh room correction unit can do its business because the setup makes me suffer. Trance was definitely unexpected and appreciated :).

That was not what i expected ! CRAZY tune on a CRAZY setup ! wauw man it blew me away ! ! Im gonna play that song on my own setup right now!! I usually put on some classical INFECTED MUSHROOM on when I need the deep bass going. check their 2001 album B.P.EMPIRE its still one of the best "pre" psy-trance albums in my opinion. And hey keep the good work with the channel :) cheers !

I am in the market for McIntosh amps, however I am not sure what to get. I have Linn Klimax 350 passive speakers, 1000 watt each. What would you recommend that works both for listening to music and use as a home theatre? Do you think I should go for Mc462 or MC 611 or MC 1.25kw?

Very nice high end system!

So it's fun to sum up a system or a piece of Gear in one word, my word is "Tinsel" the stuff we place on a Christmas Tree it's clean, shiny & gives that extra sparkle & sentiment to the room. But it seemed a bid constraint in the Base. My 18" Subs weren't to full or moving. My 15" Martin Audio, Black Line X series likes the clear refined sound the Magies produce. I am 60 & most definently into EDM Trance, currently Paul Van Dyk & Nora En Pure. But if Grandpa likes Music choices a few of my Teen favorites are Bill Nelson from Bebop Delux, Necktar song Astral Man & it's LP. City Boy from Australia LP The Day the Earth Caught Fire would Jam on that System.. I would like to hear some Tangerine Dream on those Maggies.. I am a Singer maybe I'll have my KZfaq Channel up soon & can Sing through that System as only I a REAL Singer can do.

As an audiophile, how do you keep yourself in check so you don't cross the line into ostentatiousness to the point of ridiculousness? When I told my friends how much I spent on a pair of B&W 803D2, they thought I was crazy. They have no idea how much people are willing to spend to bring the "reality" sound into their living room and, more importantly, the level of ecstasy one experiences at the mere sound of a new system you never heard before. They think all systems sound the same. Question: Does it really matter as long as you can afford it or is there a point where it really...really becomes ridiculous regardless if you have the money? Right now, as I am typing this, I am thinking about upgrading to a 800D3, but there is a rumor circulating B&W may come out with an updated version of the 800 Series in a couple of months or so. Relatively speaking, I don't think I have reached that point of ridiculousness yet. So I wait and see.

very nice system put together "over many years". Lots of enjoyment. Curious - this might be a question anyone can answer. The C2600 is not a processor. But yet, a subwoofer is connected. Is he simply running the main speakers full range and using another analog or digital output from the C2600 to subwoofer?
