Hi Nick, the best solution for your situation is probably something like flowpoint grout. It's spread across the surface as a grout slurry, so naturally fills all space in the joint. Washed off once grout starts to firm up and leaves a brilliant finish. What the professionals use, for council, large scale projects. Would allow you to keep getting extra revenue. Check it out and see what you think, plenty vids on YT. If already mentioned, sorry for repeating! And agree with you about the brush-in resin stuff, pure crap!

Hi Nick 😁👋 Hope you and your wife are surviving the school holidays ok. I get where the home owner is coming from if I am honest, if I could have a patio and path as gorgeous as that I would be making sure Maintained it as much as I could. Ouch on the pointing, I can sympathise highly on both back and knees I have severe issues with both so understand the pain doing that must have caused. You were wise to listen to your body screaming and stop. It looked wonderful and wow that pointing held up 👍 If ever I can afford my own home and a patio sand and cement mix will be done no messing 😊 Take care and just one more week to go and they are back (survival is slightly in doubt right now and I mean me not the kids 😂😂). Love and hugs to you all 🤗🤗

The time that you carefully explained about pointing and how you mixed it, has been a favorite of mine. At the time, I think you mentioned that doing pointing had become too strenuous for you to do. So, that this footage of an earlier job you did for a good client was nice, but hard on you. This included using a grinding disc, which your later video didn't. A beautiful job.

Hi Nick, i agree, that joint it is absolute crap. A lot of contractors using it nowadays cos it fast. Doesn't stand up to weeds or pressurewashing. Its pure sandy when you run your finger on it. Ive used Flowpoint on a patio for a customer.. mix it , pour out and it flows into all the nukes and crannies. Hardens like steel, but you gotta act fast or your screwed if it dries on you. 🙈😉 Hope your doing well. Are you going to get to the Expo next weekend? Cheers, Paudie

The pointing looked very Nick-like even after all these years^^ That's lovely to see and just proofs you right. What is the strength of your mix in comparison to concrete? I once saw a 'pointing' made of concrete, a weird experiment, it broke only few years after. That said it was a parking slot, I guess the cars make a difference.

I enjoy learning why watching you make this job look easy,i did half the amount of repointing you did and oh boy it leaves you walking like a old man for days... may I ask was this limestone ( believe you has said this in the video) I’ve heard others saying not to use hypo on that type of stone but did see you’d said that you’d use 3% hypo was that 3 to 1 mix or was it a 3% dilution. Only asking as I’d hope to achieve similar results on my own back garden. Thanks again for not only great teachings but very enjoyable videos.

Great job on the pointing. The mix looked almost dry, did you actually add any water to the sand and cement? Reason I ask is when ever I have tried on my own slabs I always get mortar stains maybe I was just using way too wet a mix? Great results as always. Nice to see that the pointing is still so good.

Many thanks mate as always 👍. I was charging £20 per m2 towards the end, as I was trying to put people off, didn't work though, people were still willing to pay it 🤦🏻‍♂️ 😁 The thing is with this type of work (traditional pointing) not many people who pressure wash offer it, so it's in high demand, and you can pretty much charge what you like 😄.
