As we are nearing the end of 2022, what changes are you making in your life and business to start 2023 strong?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts so honestly. Whatever path you take is the right one because it has been plotted with self-awareness. I am an INFP-T yet again at a career crossroads, struggling to be my square authentic self in a round business world. I have finally accepted I will never fit any common stereotype of success and know that self-acceptance and modification must be a part of any rewarding career going forward. Unfortunately, this awareness is uncommon and not widely accepted yet which tends to create problems in situations requiring teamwork, support, evaluations by superiors, networking, etc. It's difficult to "play the game" and also remain authentic and not become stressed out, disillusioned, and critical of oneself. I totally support your journey and plan to follow it as I too find a path this coming year.

Kimberly, thank you. Yes a lot of soul searching and being with all sorts of fears these past 5 months. So yes, so much self awareness. These crossroads sure are challenging. I'm so glad you've redefined what success can mean for you going forward. That's huge 🙌🏾 I would encourage you to just live it out, little by little, you'll be surprised at the support that comes your way. Just like you have come here to support me 🤗 I appreciate you 🙏🏾

It's wonderful to see a new video from you! Always such a pleasure to hear your new self-discoveries, and I resonated with a lot of it. Progress being non-linear is hard, especially as people judge it from the outside as flakiness and lack of commitment. It can shake our sense of self-worth. Personally, I also know how much I've grown from constantly reinventing. It's a fine balance between finding a routine that supports growth towards mastery, and not getting stuck in a rut (which leads to viewers getting disinterested)... and finding the energy for all that, as an introvert. Sometimes you have to disappear in order to incubate. I still haven't recorded my first KZfaq video (for channel restart and new direction)! Argh!! :) I am getting closer to that phase. I wanted to encourage you that even just sitting in front of the camera, talking about your thoughts is interesting to me. I would watch it without any fancy editing just to hear what's new! And maybe I need to give that encouragement to myself as well, haha! Thank you for your videos, keep on rocking!

YES 💯 to all of this!! Thank you for sharing your perspective on this and encouraging me. Taking time for introspection without external influences in key pivotal moments can be helpful, I just wish KZfaq was as forgiving. Loads of re-powering the machine needed to get my channel back up again. Hope you get to that moment when it feels like "yes it's time." In the meantime, make the most of the present moment whatever that looks and feels like. I'm recording my new welcome video this weekend and hope to post it next week. Revamping the channel and making some videos private. We shall see how it all goes 🤞🏾

@@MsDoryLinda I will look forward to your new videos! I wish the algorithm made things easier, but on the other hand... we don't get drawn to algorithms but people. I will always watch whatever you create because you're my kind of person. I hope we will get to see more of your beautiful soul and your wise thoughts. For my restart, I want to build it into a habit. That's how I built up my streaming on Twitch and retained momentum. I'm hoping I can make it work for KZfaq as well. But it means I need to build it into my everyday living, make mental space and energy for it. I've been drawing power from the idea of the phoenix rebirth. This mythical bird that thrives in cycles of rebirth and returns from ashes to burn brilliantly again. It resonates for me and my life.

You're my kind of person 💕 I'm like that too, when I vibe with someone, I'll literally ho look for their videos if I haven't seen then recommend to me. I hope to get back to the swing of a video a week or every two weeks and see how that picks up. I've published one just now. And like you, get back to the habit of just creating content. And more importantly just documenting what I'm doing, what's working and what's not working etc. I like your Phoenix visualization 💖 That's exactly what we're doing. Looking forward to hear about your rise up 🙌🏾

Dory!!!🤗🤗🤗❤️ I am so happy to see you!!! I would think of you often. This time, instead of just keeping those thoughts to myself, I felt the need to just let you know that I'm thinking of you.🥰 Thank you so much for this video. It came at a perfect time. I can absolutely relate to everything you are going through and I figured we were both going through something similar. I'm currently in the process of making changes. I have two channels. Views have been low and subscriptions have slowed down dramatically. That can be extremely discouraging...disheartening. However, I understand that a lot of KZfaqrs are experiencing the exact same thing (even large channels) Some are blaming it on tiktok ...ig reels... Shorts.. viewer attention span...whatever! 😅 I've realized there is nothing I can do about that. I am still learning and yes I've been trying to play that "game" i.e. SEO... titles... niching down...etc. In the meantime, I've been focusing mostly on guarding my energy and putting it into what I can control...personal development; self-care- mental/emotional , physical and spiritual health; cultivating my gifts and talents. I'm finally niching down more because it's becoming really clear (since I've been on this platform) what's really important to me. That is something I cannot and will not compromise. However, I also can't make what's important to me important to everyone else and when serving others, I can't make it all about what I want. So, what do I do? My ultimate goal is to make service the center of what I do because that is really the core of who I am. I finally realized how I can serve. Service is not always about what I want to do per se. Most of the time it's the opposite. It's more about giving what I have in my power or ability to give to help others. What are my talents? So, I started looking at what I have in my hand that people want and I am good at. I may not be great at it but I am really good at it. What is that thing I'd always approach lazily because it wasn't something I always felt like doing. I also wasn't sure if I wanted to extend that kind of energy and effort in serving in that capacity. God will never call us to comfort. We don't grow in comfort but He will always give us the grace we need to fulfill the call on our lives. I thought to myself what would happen if I gave it my very best and served with my whole heart... Not just half of it. Nothing good comes from lukewarmness...average/ mediocre effort. Now, I spend a few hours each week in "mastery" and this has fanned the flames on something I thought I could never enjoy the way I do now. Although challenging, I find it therapeutic and fun. It's kinda like a workout out... We may not feel like doing it at first but when we start conditioning ourselves, energy begets energy. And when we see results, we wanna do more. We get better and we get stronger. Now I believe I figured out how to marry what's important to me with what my target audience wants. It's like when you're trying to feed your toddler peas but you have to disguise or mix in peaches to get him/her to eat them. You can't make the child want the peas. I feel that as INFP's we care deeply about the overall wellness of others to the point of mothering them and a lot of people aren't looking for that. A lot of people aren't looking for mothering, depth or even wisdom. So, we may have to inject those things into what they want. There are so many personal development coaches that have been around for a long time and have a very large following, I've noticed that they've even had to make that shift in marrying their message with today's culture to gain new followers. Many have there faithful followers and are supported regardless. I've learned that I just have to continue to be diligent, keep service at the center of all I do, be pliable in meeting people where they are and simply stay the course. My people are out there somewhere. I just need to continue doing what I can do, shift when necessary and let God do the rest. We got this!!!🤗❤️😘

YES YES YES to all this! So much is changing, and we have to adapt for sure. I have seen a huge drop in views on my channel, and it didn't help that I took such a long break from creating content. I love your focus and discovery process. It's a dance, drawing people in for what they want to give them what they need. Most of the time, for me at least, I realize where people are on their journey matters. I have to dilute the reality a little less for those who know the drill. So in your example of peas and peaches (great example, by the way), the older the kid is, the less peach you have to mix in or no peach at all, as they may come to know and like the pure taste of peas! You know! It is key to figuring out who that person is and what they need the most, so I love that you're molding this to fit that. Would love to hear more about your offer when you're ready to share. Is the offer out yet, or you're still working on it?

@Ms Dory Linda Sorry for the book!!! I got a little carried away there. Indeed, I have started implementing some things but I'm still working in other areas. And yes, you are right, as we mature we want better quality foods...more substance.

I can so relate to being someone who loves change - my average is changing up my job/living space about once per year. :O But the one constant has been my writing - whether it's stories or blogging. If I make a change sooner than that, there's often a lot of stress, so I am trying to be consistent with a future job/living space for at least a year. I am glad you relate to not living in a linear way - you miss out on so much personal growth when you're stuck doing the same thing for 10, 20 years.

So good that you are aware of your cycles and rhythms. That's so key because you can plan around them than try to insist you show up in the world differently.

So happy to see you back here. I always resonate with content on your personal journey. As a blogger, I struggle with settling on one niche or a single direction. Your self acceptance is inspiring and timely. I was told I had to figure out my one path, the one direction to take, which in time led me to launching multiple blogs because I find interest in so many fields. I finally suffered analysis paralysis but I continue to pray and search for clarity. Yes, I have an idea of some strategies and click baits that would likely get me numbers in followers and readers but, like you, authenticity and a sense of inspiration in my content is important. Watching this video has made it clear that I am not alone in this. I am not crazy. 😊 Thank you. ❤️

Hi Manka, thank you 🤗 It's so true that niching gives us an advantage and focus. A distinction that I've heard that I've found helpful is to not focus on what you niche down to but who you niche down to, in terms of psychographics. That way you still have room to play, and most of what you create will still be relevant to your audience. I find niching down to a topic too restrictive for me due to the purpose of my channel (it needs to feed into the whole brand vs a particular product or business). But you'd see niche sites and blogs do so well due to the specificity. You're right analysis paralysis is huge when there's too many options. That was the main focus we addressed in my membership when it comes to the first stage of pursuing an idea. Happy to support you if you ever seek professional help to move forward.
