I think you goal of helping teens learning to manage money is amazing! I am only 16 years old but have enough saved up for my baby emergency fund, to pay for college, and to buy a used car when I start college. Videos like these really helped me to learn the basics of budgeting and encourage me through saving. Thank you for helping other teens and young adults!

I love the idea of a budget/financial brain dump. I’m working to pay off debt so I take income - fixed/variable expenses - debt to figure out my debt snowball. I can’t wait until the day I can focus on savings first and figure out how to live off the remainder. 💜

I'm only 17 and I want to start saving my money that I work for now, whilst I don't have much to pay out for and and while I don't have to pay taxes. I earn around £330 a month MINIMUM ( although I am paid weekly) anything else I earn, I put into savings immediately and pretend I never earned it. I pay out £35 a month on bills (for me that's a gym membership, xbox membership and phone credit). I give myself around £25 a week for food from college and work (most of my food is already available at home) and then no matter what, I put £100 a month from that minimum into savings. Anything that I have left over I only use in emergencies such as travel, if I need new clothes or a charger etc. Any spare money that's not included in the food, bills and £100 dedicated savings just goes into the savings. It all adds up and I'm lucky I don't have much to pay for.

Don’t save money in cash... super bad idea. Put it in a high interest savings account and make your money work for you as the value of your dollar depreciates over time so you can keep up with it.

I enjoyed the video and it’s helpful! Not sure why you kept covering stuff even though you already showed it? Maybe next time you can go through and cover them with sticky notes and stuff before doing the video. Just ended up being super distracting because I didn’t care about the info, but when it kept getting covered I was like, what was it?

how i budget: 1. Write a list of all your expenses and how much they cost you per month (look at past bank history and average amounts together for accurate estimate of expenses), also include a spot in your expenses list for your ‘savings account’ 2. Evaluate this expenses list and see how you can reduce these expenses to the smallest amount possible (comfortably) and implement these new actions in your daily life (examples: car insurance app to lower $ paying per month, cash back on gas/groceries/shopping, start thrifting/buying used, using less electricity & water, start walking/biking to places more, work to lower bad habits such as smoking, nail and hair appointments, shopping, etc.) 3. Write a list below your expenses list of all of your sources of income and how much you make from them per month and see how this list can be maximized (examples: side hustles such as google surveys, food delivery, donating plasma, etc.) 4. Make a final list below the sources of income list of items that you would like to save up for and how much each item costs (examples: new car, new house, college debt, baby, new pet, new phone, etc.) 5. Put tiny arrows next to all expenses and match up income to expense, item by item, writing what income can cover what expense, keep savings account blank open 6. Evaluate what money is left over when all expenses have been covered by a source of income and write that number in the blank for ‘savings account’ and write, next to arrow, what parts of which income(s) the extra money is coming from (should have at least $1,000 saved at all times in case of emergency, and should make enough income per month to pay for double the rent- if your rent is $500/month, should be making $1,000+/month) 7. Lastly, compare what you can save for your savings account per month to what you would like to spend that $ on in the future and see if you are hitting your goals and how long it will take you to achieve them -hopefully this helps someone, I’m just really passionate about budgeting so I thought I’d share lol-
