The new clutch was slipping bad

99-00 was the Windsor plant motor in the mustang, 8 bolt flywheel among other differences.

Someone pounded the whizz out of that trans and heat warped that plate that was cracked and the uneven surface chewed those clutch fingers, glad you fixed it and keep up the wrenching 👍🏼

the o/d light flashing could be because the car was originally an automatic and the tcm may still be installed

possible P71. I've swapped F150 from wrecked Crown Vic police interceptor. Did not have flywheel issues.

Randy I have a 2000 just like that and it's a beast, some motor and trans. It's one that eats Hemi,s for lunch.

It looks to be running great! Yeah it has gears, and needs the speedo calibrated. Mine read crazy when I swapped in 3.73 for the original 2.73. It is probably 4.10 I bet. Good luck with the sale!

Supposedly all of the 99-00 automatic GT's had 8-bolt cranks. Which makes sense.... because this car was an automatic.

99/00 came with 8 bolt crank and mid 00-04 i believe came with 6. Dealt with this on my auto when i did a 4valve swap.

Flexplates, automatic transmissions Flywheels, standard transmission Maybe a few exceptions but not on a Ford Mustang or F150

The 99-00 mustang gt came with a Windsor 4.6 that has an 8 bolt crank. Judging by the over drive light in the previous video I’m thinking the last owner swapped it to a manual. The transmission you have on the trans jack looks like a TR3650 from a 01-04 mustang gt

Maximum Motorsports makes some of the best Stang parts out there. I have their caster/camber plates also.

I have a feeling that 4.6 is modded, not just a “truck” motor. The Cobra DOHC crank was also an 8 bolt unit. I’m thinking a stock “for a truck” clutch will be challenged.

check your coolant level in the over flow bottle and see if it's where it should be, the far right light is from the coolant level sensor on the overflow bottle, or check to see if the wiring is present and plugged in, either should fix the problem and get rid of the light

If you have a local clutch/brake supply specialty shop, they can be a godsend for weird swap parts ID if you don't have "Santa"

The engine looks pretty wide so I'd have to say it's more than likely a 5.4 with a few mods with the way it blows the tires off.

Maybe the triton 5.4 v8 truck engine. It looks identical to my engine in my 2004 Ford f150 Triton

i always thought the f 150's had the 5.4's but then the 4.6 was never a option (except in pusstangs) in australia

I’m just going to make a hypothesis on this. So the original 4.6 in the mustang blown up. The owner must have went to a junk yard found the same engine for a f150 pretty much said oh it’s the same. Put it in the car but didn’t realize how different the parts are and just said f it. Let’s send it in. Now I seen performance shops do this too as well I seen some F up stuff from them in the past 10 years of modifying cars.

This thing sounds like it's been tuned at the very least probably a big cam or big cams and she's a badass motor that could have a cobra crank in it for extra strength with lightweight rods and pistons she'd be a beast

Check that vin. Looks like it was an auto to manual conversion. Make sure it wasn’t a 6 cylinder car originally. (Flashing OD light is an auto thing)

Hey Randy, you interested in an 08 Mercedes E350 wagon? It's a nice car.

Jack up the car in the rear. Take a marker mark on the driveshaft put a little line there. Then rotate the tire in the rear tire and count how many times the driveshaft turns that’ll give you your gear ratio. So if it turns four times and it may be another eighth of a turn you’re probably looking at 411s

Saleendriver is 100% correct. Look on the side of the cam cover and see if the sticker is still there. Windsor will say WEP and romeo will say REP.

mark the tyre, jack up the rear, make sure the car is in neutral ,the front wheels are chocked and the handbrake is off spin the tail shaft 10 times, have someone count how many times the tyre spins, divide by 10, that should be your rear end ratio
