I completely understand all this. A few years ago my adult children wanted to start planning a family vacation to Disney. Great. I’m all in. Then all the sudden as they are sharing information I said I can’t go. The anxiety was real. For no reason. To this day I have to pump myself up to go even to a store. Let’s not forget about my mood swings or the flipping forgetfulness with words. I’m looking at it but I can’t get the words out. The weight. Ugh! I will say it has been a little easier as in my office there is another woman going through the same thing so we share our experiences and feel a little better knowing we are not alone.

Thank You So Much for this video!! I totally understand EVERYTHING you said!! I'm living it!! I'm 53 years old and I've been struggling since 2018. It's all so frustrating and even frightening at times, but the chronic insomnia is THE WORST!!! Some nights I never fall asleep! Other nights, I will finally fall asleep @ 4am only to wake up again when my husband's clock goes off at 5:00, and no matter how exhausted I am, I can't fall back asleep. And on the very rare nights I do get some sleep, according to the clock, I wake up several times every hour! It's awful!! Most nights I just lay there and cry!! 😢😢 I've seen my doctor several times, and was prescribed a low dose estrogen and anxiety meds, and still NO sleep. Last time I went to see him, he basically said, "Well, menopause is a part of life, and some women have no issues with it, and others deal with the changes for years." So there's that! ☹️ And like you said, I'm not trying to sound whinny, but this has stolen my life from me and I don't know what else to do other than keeping praying it gets better. 🙏

I also had times when stress would make my brain feel electrified. I felt like there were fireworks going off in there and I could NOT dial them down. It was like “fight or flight” was on overdrive for HOURS even days! Fun times!

Kristen, I have been going through the same thing except it is post menopause for me. It is very hard to explain to anyone who isn't going through it. I had a medical doctor tell me that I was doing this to myself. WHAT?!! Why in the world would I want this?! You are not alone. Thank you for bringing this to light. It's a daily struggle. One day at a time. God bless you!

You are definitely not whiney or complaining! The whole sleep deprivation thing is REAL, and I still get hot flashes years later. I am so thankful I never needed a hysterectomy and my periods stopped when I was 44 with very few issues. But SO many of my friends describe terrible things such as panic attacks. Gotta get through it TOGETHER.

You are definitely not alone. I told my endocrinologist last summer that I was going crazy. I also had those tingly, fainting feelings. I feel much better a year later. Still have moments but not as often at all, in fact very rarely happens now.

Been there doing that! I’m post menopausal and after my move finding the right doctor to continue my HRT has been HARD. I would love to recommend two things that might help. Dr. Mary Clare Haver has a brand new book out called The New Menopause. It’s fantastic and includes peri-menopause. Also, what has been incredibly helpful is ingredient checking on my foods. I have totally ditched processed foods and chemical ingredients. I check every single thing I bring into my house with an app that allows me to see what kind of crap is in it and I’m shocked at what I have found. It’s not cheap but my health and my family’s health is so worth it.

Thank you for sharing . I've been going through the same thing. I'm so glad I found your channel. I have had all the blood work done. mine started out like yours.. Now, I have so many symptoms of menopause. Currently, I take provitalize, and my doctor prescribed 10 MG of anxiety med, which I never needed before. I've also had to scale back on everything in my life just to function. It's a pep talk to just go to appointments and work.. take care and keep the videos coming.. it's nice to know someone gets what you are going through.. Menopause is no joke.

Wow, I'm going through the same exact things right now too! It feels so isolating and like you don't know what's wrong with you. I have no other friends going through these things. I had an episode where I thought I was going to pass out at work. Besides freaking everyone in the building out, I was embarrassed and had no idea why that happened. But it's a rough time. Mentally and physically. I've had to cut way back in activities. I feel like some days I live like a senior citizen. The question is, does it get better?

Thank you for your transparency, Kristin. I think the more we talk about going through the change and normalizing the conversations the more we can help each other through this process. I have an appointment with a naturopath because I'm 50 and starting the perimenopause journey. I also have PCOS and endometriosis so my hormones are all wacky (God bless my husband lol). TOGETHER we will come out stronger and support our community through this! And please don't think of yourself as being whiny. You're definitely not. It's a blessing to have a tribe of menopausal queens supporting each other. haha.

Together through sharing we aren't alone! I have found through sharing my own experiences with women's health care, it can educate and help people not feel alone. And also finding out that the care I received, or the lack thereof wasn't the 'norm'. Sleep is so vital! I will be the extra nap person who sleeps for 4 hours then can't go to sleep at night. I seem to get worse with that as I age.

Thank you for sharing! After all the years of doing everything, it is 1000% okay to step back and take care of yourself. I totally get the feeling of rising panic and the struggle with feelings of not wanting to attend events. It is okay -- you are not being whiny; your feelings are valid! The not sleeping is the worst part. The only thing that works for me is Ambien and CBD gummies (not on the same night!)

I’ve been feeling like I have PMDD, which is like severe pms. My moods are awful after my period ends, around the time of ovulation, & leading up to my period. I’m about to turn 40, so I think I’m too early for perimenopause. I’ve never been on any form of birth control & had 2 kids over the past 8 years & breastfed for about 2.5 years. I’m hoping maybe perimenopause will help me!! I think I’m just super sensitive to the hormonal fluctuations. I hate how they make being a female seem so easy!! We go through sooooooo many hormonal fluctuations month after month… I’ve been taking extra magnesium daily & take 5-HPT on the worst nights. It helps a little! Prioritizing our personal peace is key! ❤😇 I think spiritual warfare is real too! The enemy hates women- we bring LIFE into this world! 🥰

Thank you for sharing. I’m curious, are there similarities in how you are ending your cycling season to how you started it? I remember hearing how you started is how you will finish. Similar emotions. It was that way for me, so I’m curious about others. Also, hormones before puberty cause you to focus inward. Hormones during cycle years cause you to look outward (you need to take care of everybody). Hormones for menopause force you back inward to deal with all the STUFF you pushed aside thinking, “I’m fine. It doesn’t bother me!” It truly is a beautiful season and you finally start taking care of your physical and emotional needs.

Are you referring to my menstrual cycle? I don't have a period anymore. I had a hysterectomy back in 202, which kinda makes it worse. If I had a period, it would definitely help me determine some of the hormonal issues.
